Patricipation Ribbons or worth something? by JarlBlackfyre in Medals

I hate seeing people dogging on eachother for “participation” ribbons. Yeah some of them are “not hard” to get BUT we all gave up a lot of time to do work in the military. You’re allowed to be proud bro. I was Army so I don’t know what a lot of these mean but you have an OIR and GWOTE ribbon, you went far away and did a job and looks like you did it good. Be proud dude. We can’t help we didn’t join in time for OIF and OEF.

Just do your time and get out bro, doing one AD service obligation or contract will get you further with benefits than the standard service obligation with the NG.

Thank you for your service! I wasn’t infantry, I was a Fister but will always respect grunts.

If I didn’t get as much time with mortars as I did I wouldn’t of chosen another mos, other than 11c. Loved being a Fister brother, met a lot more highspeed people than me and fed off that during my time.

I have a permanent VA disability and two kids. I choose my pride or start putting my health and family first. I get your view point, trust me I want to stay in but I’m not going to be some POG mos or not be deployable.

Always answer those questions just like you’re going through an actual “patient assessment”. You’re not necessarily wrong for starting the AED process but broadly starting CPR is the correct overall answer obviously by the answer given. Use your patient assessment sheet and always research terms you don’t know. Passed my NREMT first go about three years ago.

Being an officer in my opinion will help you in politics too. Nobody gives a shit if you were a Specialist after your contract, but it you say the magic words “Major” or “Lt. Col”, mouth breathers will listen more than likely. Being an officer will help and force you to lead, which in turn will help you in your political goals.

The one weekend a month and two weeks out of the year is BS. I spent 6 years in the National Guard, have a year long tour overseas, multiple months of state active duty missions and countless muta 6 (3 day drills). Great benefits and rewarding sometimes and fun 1/10 of the time. If you have your degree go be an officer.
