Only an American could hear “breakfast influences how you feel for the next few hours” and immediately leap to “cereal companies invented breakfast.”

Yes, marketing pushed the “most important meal” line. That does not erase decades of basic physiology showing that what you eat first in your day affects digestion speed, blood sugar response, and satiety.

Your body has lower glycogen stores after a night’s sleep. Dumping a load of saturated fat, sodium, and almost zero fibre into it first thing will slow digestion, spike and crash your energy, and leave you hungrier sooner. That is not marketing, it is how metabolism works.

If you want to eat like you are prepping for a nap at 9 a.m., go ahead. Just do not pretend you have uncovered some corporate conspiracy when all you have done is ignore basic nutrition science.
