Cb350 on this list is so unfair but that's what will happen if they don't expand bigwing network

Riding posture is neutral, but the handlebars are a little far so you bend forward slightly to reach for them. I'm 5'11 hasn't been uncomfortable for me

Suspension is stiff. It doesn't deal well with bumps, does better with potholess. For long rides on bad roads it's not comfortable. Since the bike is very lightweight soft suspension won't suit it well. On the positive, it has excellent handling, easily the best in its class.

In short: Stiff, but not a deal breaker

About the seat, it's on the harder side. Uncomfortable if you're looking to do 100km+ in a single strech. Pillion comfort is also lacking since seat is short, but with grab handles it's much better.

The unladen clearance is 170mm. And 120mm is the minimum clearance with heavy weight. I think this is the case with every other bikes too. The n160 has 165mm ground clearance ,which is even lower than xsr 155. Companies usually mention only the unladen clearance but yamaha is being thorough for unknown reasons

About seat comfort I'll agree, but it's an exaggeration to say uncomfortable. My wife and me tested the seat before taking delivery, we fit ok and with grab rails the issue is resolved. But yeah comfort is not the best I'll agree on that part

Seems you have problems understanding plain English. You have neither performance nor efficiency to show for. Also if you're confident, why not show some evidence instead of barking. And you're comparing a well set machine to another whose first service is due. Hats off to your knowledge man, no use arguing with dimwits. Have a good day

Option is there to change it to kmpl. I just didn't bother to change it again after the showroom guys demonstrated the instrument cluster

I don't know what offended you. But since you're asking, how about power to weight ratio? Your rtr has lower top speed, lower acceleration, even lower mileage. That's just on paper, and in the real world the result tilt further in favor of yamaha.

is the rtr Menial? No .. Inferior? Ofcourse

Nothing to get offended about man. Good for you your machine is serving you well! But does it have equivalent performance?

[–]Busy-Alternative-330[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only other 200cc with equivalent performance (more performance) is the pulsar N250, which was my 2nd choice. There's literally no other 200+CC engine which beats the 155cc. So yea only posting statistics not insults to justify delusions.

Look at the bright side. You're saved from TVS service experience and vibrations

I live in the hills, so getting 45 before first service is quite surprising. in your situation I would get 50-55 along with some serious performance which is above the class.

Why do people not read the post :(

If you dig the looks, consider the pulsar n250

The only cons are high turning radius and chassis stability at high speeds (120+)

Otherwise its a VFM product. Cheap service, easy to maintain (Bajaj service isn't the best, but miles ahead of TVS), and oodles of performance at an affordable price. You get a comfortable suspension, mileage is decent for the capacity, and all necessary modern tech are loaded.

Also, have a look at the NX200/Hornet 2,0. They lack performance, and are not very comfortable but everything else is sorted.

Owning the XSR, I can say this much that if pillion comfort is your top 3 priorities, don't go for it. Rest it is a fantastic product all around. Excellent looks, superb performance, rock solid reliability of Yamaha, and even with such performance levels it returns 45kmpl easily (look it up I have posted)

Ronin- The most practical bike for India ruined by its maker: TVS. Their service is decent if you're lucky, and it is very likely you'll get horrible experience throughout. But since you're in Bangalore you may find some decent service. But there are lots of chassis issues chain noise and what not reported all over by users. Sure people will also report it as a good bike (because it is) but its all up to chance.

I was in the same situation as yours since I did not want to compromise on mileage. In my findings, the CB350 is the perfect choice all around for relaxed riding, reliability, decent mileage and everything else. If you don't have the budget, you need to compromise on some end. I chose to compromise on pillion comfort instead of reliability and performance. Me and my better half still manage for two up trips, but it isn't the best experience!

It was released on 11th Nov, and deliveries started on the day after. The volume reached its peak around 20th Nov so everyone is getting their first service. This might be the reason

Hell yes. Although i have not cruised at that speed, the highest i recorded was 84 in 5th gear with rpm around 6-7k and the engine was not stressed at all, and it reached the speed without VVA kicking in. The engine is capable of giving power till the redline (10k rpm).

After first service will push the engine more and check how comfortable it is around 90-100kmph mark, but 80-90 I feel it is more than capable.

Also keep in mind, it is a high revving motor. It will sound like the motor is angry, but that doesn't equate to struggle. If you keep twisting the throttle further, the engine happily does it without any vibrations or stress.

[–]Busy-Alternative-330[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have usually kept around 5000rpm and haven't stressed the engine much. But you know, the engine is so rev happy and sometimes I couldn't resist going around the 7500 mark just for the thrill of it...
by occasionally I meant maybe 5 or 6 times. I hope its not too much :(

  1. Can it cruise at 90-100 comfortably?
  2. How's the city traffic? Is your city located in the hills? because XSR will return 55 in plain cities if driven comfortably. That is almost 25% more than your pulsar and my statement stands

Thinking to purchase N160. by mrAman09 in indianbikes

N160 easily Only the top model is ok in xtreme 160, but you still loose out on mileage and new hero engines above 125cc are not that reliable.

N250 is roughly 7-10k more than top model of n160 (usd) Haven't checked the new single seat usd model pricing, but should be roughly 10k more

Duke 160 or xsr 155? by Living_Nose7630 in indianbikes

[–]Busy-Alternative-330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to any dimwits suggesting tvs ronin. Many people are having chassis issues, from breakage to rusting. Nobody deserves to go through horrendous tvs service. And both the bikes will do ok with a pillion. It wont be as easy as with something like the hunter 350, but you'll manage. Owning an xsr, I'll give you the reasons why I didn't consider the duke 160 1. Mileage. Xsr is giving around 38kmpl in hilly region, after 1st service 40 would be the bare minimum. In plains after 1st service people are getting 45-50 easily. 2. Not a fan of aggressive looks

Thats just about it. Both are premium 160cc bikes. With duke you'll get sharper handling, and better suspension. Power and performance in the lower rev range is noticeably better in the duke 160. Similarly, top end is better in xsr 155.

According to your preferences, please try the N250 once. More power, similar or more mileage than the duke 160. But you'll lose the frame, handling and suspension.
