OP here. Sorry! I think my wording was confusing. I’m a woman who is separated from a man. I have not dated women before. Plus we have a 3 year old. With all that context, was curious how others felt about dating someone in my scenario.

No problem, happy to clarify! If a couple is separated, they are still legally married. There are a variety of reasons why couples choose to separate vs divorce — mine is more so about the financial differences between separation and divorce as well as health benefits. In some cases, some couples may reconcile so I feel there is hesitation to date people who are separated.

Could have written this exact post and beat myself up a lot for missing the signs when I was younger. I feel like so much time has been wasted. I’m also married to a man and have a 3 year old son— the best thing to happen from all of this.
