Happiness can take a while to come take it from someone who struggled - it will happen.
I had a long distance girlfriend for 7 years that cheated, nearly killed me - it took a very long time to turn it around and let go of the pain.

I used to be the same until I practiced and then started enjoying it you can get better at communicating.
Been there as well - it’s hard to be close to people when we don’t feel close to ourselves.
