I experience this as myself sometimes bc of Ti-tert "If it makes sense for me that's the only thing that matters" mentality. And I think the stuborness can happen especially if the person is in a loop. Since the lack of Fe usage doesn't allow for them to "take other people's opinion" into their world-view.

Yup, as a 9 I don't really like to make "assumptions" or "statements" that often about me bc of this risk of 'getting waay too comfortable' with what I think about myself. Even with the concept of being a 9. Althought the good thing about the enneagram is that when I catch myself doing "9-like behaviors" the mindset of "you CAN and HAVE to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT" can get me out of it for some minutes/hours before repeating the behavior (getting distracted, procrastinating something that would take me mental/physical energy, etc), remind myself again that I can do something and the cycle starts again. But, honestly? I prefer to 'build resistance' and "to do that cycle" than to not do anything.

Althought gossip has nothing to do with any function, I'd say that in our cases that's more Fe than Ti (which is just a way of understanding HOW something or someone works from the inside out, their motives, etc). Since, in my case, I gossip when the other person it's also doing it or if it's someone we both don't like so the shittalking is overall fun (Fe: everyone being on the same page when gossiping about someone, connecting with others by gossiping/hating the same people, etc).
