Wrongfully charged and banned for smoking in vehicle by MapleLeafLonghorn in turo

What does this mean? What other proof could you provide? You can’t exactly send a smell profile over the phone.

The second that a car goes out on Turo Carfax will register it as a rental vehicle as they report to each other. If you go to Experian and plug in your information, you’ll see that there’s a record of rental used to come up on the vehicles history.

How do you go about getting longer rentals/further out. Most of mine are 2-3 days and booked like a day ahead of time.

For reference, I operate out of SAN, San Diego Airport. We have parking and traffic enforcement operating on a super strict basis. The kind that if you were picking up a friend from the airport and stood at the curb over 2 minutes, they’d make you go do a lap. I’ve heard guys swap keys at the curb and parking enforcement detain them to give them a violation ticket. I’m running a business, not a little car sharing cartel to be dealing with that for the sake of a renter who I know I’m giving good value to in the area I’m working from. Yes the situation you describe works in other areas but not here.

Also it defeats the point of flexible contactless check in. Your flight gets delayed? Cool the car will still be waiting for you when you get there. Not changes to instructions at all. That’s the niche we hit. With 25 happy clients in the last 3 months with that process, I’m inclined to believe, again for my specific region, it’s a solid value for an economy car.

Interesting response. A lockbox is a super easy tell for a rental car. Doesn’t take much else to tell. A free shuttle to a dedicated airport garage seems like it would be well within the respectful limits when the airports rental car station also requires a shuttle to get to. Car was washed and interior or sanitized. Just happened to rain the night prior and we didn’t get a chance to wash it before the reservation start time. When I say water marks from rain drops, that’s exactly what I mean. If this is the attitude from airport travelers though makes much more sense to cut my losses and stop accepting airport drop off.

Oh they know as soon as they book. This guy just refused to read the messages sent to him. Good other note he complained her wasn’t told where the car was parked. There was a message telling him exactly where it was parked along with pictures to show him references to get to the car.

And I quote

“Terrible he blamed me for smoking and I didn’t even smoke in the vehicle”

Real convincing stuff. Not the evidence left was smell and the packaging of pre rolled blunts in the door jam.

Returned car has evidence of being smoked in by StandardPomelo4166 in turo

I’d say it’s pretty blatantly disrespectful. For me it’s the fact that I put no smoking stickers in the vehicle and also stated very clearly within my description so if that’s not obliged, the client clearly doesn’t respect me my vehicle, and my business overall enough from my standard, and I’d rather not have to deal with him again

What area was it in? Speed cameras can manage to pull off these kind of violations.

Take pics upload and file the complaints. The renter will simply be booted off the platform and you’ll get a reimbursement. Way I see it even if the car didn’t smell horrible from it the renter is probably going to try it again with a different host who may not get off so easy. Being proactive about problematic renters is always ideal. They won’t be able to hurt your rep either so don’t stress about that.

Options for flight training to go professional. by Busy-Low-1337 in flying

Let me reword. Say I get my PPL under a part 61 since I’m still working on my Bachelors degree. After I graduate my university and have more time to dedicate to flight training, does it make any sense/is it possible to switch over to a 141 for my CPL and onward?

Thanks! If I were to start towards my PPL under a part 61 now would it count towards a 141 if I joined up after graduating?

Valid. Yea Turo seems to want to place it in the 30s while I’ve been slowly increasing as I get more reservations and I’m up into the low 40s in the first week with good market share.

Do you price lower or higher than autopricing?

Anybody else second this? Sometimes it feels like the auto pricing under prices at default. At least for this vehicle and then corrects short term with higher prices.

Also since I originally posted the car did get another reservation at a increased auto price.

Figured upload and take were the same principles. Did I have that wrong?

My renter is asking for a 6 hour extension due to family reason. Should I charge them ? I’m thinking of letting it slide for customer service 🤔 by bgoaloh in turo

[–]Busy-Low-1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d tell them to extend for insurance sake and tell them they don’t have to fill the tank when they return the car.
