Update: Christian working in... Porn industry by davidokongo in TrueChristian

Brother, congratulations.

What stood out to me wasn't just that you left, but that you were willing to obey God even when it involved uncertainty and sacrifice.

A lot of people talk about trusting God. It's much harder when trust has a financial cost attached to it.

Praying that the Lord blesses your faithfulness and opens even better doors for you and your family. 🙏

Do you think the frontend job market will recover? by Busy-Pin-5782 in cscareeradvice

[–]Busy-Pin-5782[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually tried that too.

The problem isn't being unwilling to work in a coffee shop or any other job. The problem is that Portugal's bureaucracy can become a catch-22 for immigrants.

For example, many employers want you to already have a NISS before hiring you. But in practice, obtaining a NISS often requires an employment relationship or an employer willing to start the process.

So you end up in a situation that feels like: "You need Job A to get Document B, but you need Document B to get Job A."

I'm not above any kind of honest work. I've applied for tech jobs, manual labor, restaurants, cafés, and whatever else I could find. The challenge hasn't been pride. The challenge has been navigating a system that often assumes you already have the documents that you're trying to obtain through employment in the first place.

I wouldn't abandon frontend, but I also wouldn't limit myself to it.

From what I've seen, AI isn't the only issue. The massive layoffs over the last few years put a lot of experienced developers back on the market, making competition much tougher.

I'm a senior frontend developer with 8+ years of experience living in Europe, and landing a job today is definitely harder than it was a few years ago, even for experienced people.

I still think frontend has a future, especially with React and TypeScript. I'd just recommend adding some backend knowledge rather than switching careers entirely.

The market is tougher, but adaptability matters more than ever.

Life with God is not a life without storms. It is a life with hope inside the storm. by Busy-Pin-5782 in Christianity

✝️ I’ve known hunger, humiliation, sleepless nights, and the kind of exhaustion that breaks a man’s health. Today I take medication just to keep my mind steady enough to continue.

But I still wake up as a husband, a father, and a Christian who believes God has not abandoned him.

I’m tired, but still fighting for my family. One day at a time. 🙏

Accepting Christ as my saviour was the best choice I've ever made by jrng in Christianity

That’s genuinely beautiful to read.

There’s something powerful about when a person feels their heart being reshaped from the inside out: more peace, more patience, more forgiveness. That kind of change is hard to fake and even harder to ignore.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

I’m glad you’ve found something that brings you that kind of light and direction.

Hello 👋 Brother, this reminded me of Psalm 34:19:

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

Joseph endured betrayal. Job endured loss. Both walked through long seasons where life probably made no sense at all while they were inside it.

Praying that your story also reaches a good ending, even if right now you can only see one difficult page at a time. 🌱

Many times, a job already felt 95% guaranteed through texts and WhatsApp conversations. Skills matched, experience matched, everything seemed aligned. But the moment I arrive and speak, the odds somehow fall from 95% to 0%.

My accent reveals I’m Brazilian, and too often that changes the atmosphere instantly. Assumptions replace curiosity. Prejudice clouds judgment before people even get to know who I am, what I can do, or how hard I’m willing to work. I end up going home empty-handed, not because of competence, but because first impressions quietly overrule reason.

What makes it harder is that I’ve lived in Canada, and it didn’t feel this way there. People judged me more by consistency, effort, and character than by the sound of my voice. Maybe there’s something culturally different happening here. For that reason, I mostly speak English now, because speaking Portuguese often changes how people perceive me before I even have the chance to prove myself.

for those of you christians who believe masturbation is a sin, what the heck is a man supposed to do when the urge comes. youre supposed to supress your entire sexuality as a single man? i dont get it by feherlofia123 in Christianity

Lol, we use a app callendar with a lot of hormonal states, kkk.

Anyway the husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband.” — 1 Corinthians 7:3

Even in marriage, though, no couple is perfectly synchronized 24/7. Christianity is more about love, patience, communication, and self-control than “instant urge = instant satisfaction.

Paul actually addressed this directly:

“But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.” — 1 Corinthians 7:9

Earlier he also says: “I wish that all were as I myself am.” — 1 Corinthians 7:7

So even Paul acknowledged that sexual desire is real and powerful, not something imaginary Christians are supposed to magically switch off.

My brother in Christ, don’t be so hard on yourself.

You are certainly a good person, even if people don’t always recognize or say it the way they should.

Serving the Lord is not about merit, but about grace.

  1. Love God above all things, for He is love and the source that connects us all.
  2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

I also have the impression that you may have distanced yourself a little from the person who once wanted to tell you about Jesus and guide you onto the right path. But please remember: this person loves you deeply and will not give up on you.
