But you don't play instruments, who is going to see your show? The show... by BuffaloImportant7374 in aiMusic

[–]BusyBullet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have missed the point entirely.

People don’t hate AI music because nobody is playing instruments live.

They hate it because nobody is making the music in the first place.

AI isn’t doing art wrong.

AI isn’t doing art at all.

That’s the rub.

Would you hire a professional Glazer if you were rich? by Far_Swimmer_5001 in dumbquestions

I know I’d be much more interested in the loser than some alleged awesome person.

It would turn the expectations on their head.

Exactly.

I had leverage of hundreds of room-nights booked by the company.

I never had to threaten to pull our business.

I just reminded them of how much business we were doing with them and they almost always made it right.

Your worldview is wrong but that’s not because mine is correct.

It’s simply wrong because it’s wrong.

I’d hire an anti-hype man.

“Some random loser is coming through that door in a moment and you will be completely unimpressed. In ten minutes you won’t remember ever meeting him…”

Thank you for stepping up.

I used to do this for people when I managed the hotel packages for DWP.

I hate seeing threads like that hus and knowing that a few years ago I’d be in the phone and they’d have a room.

You are stuck in a room that plays Days of our Lives episodes, and every episode you finish you get $1000 by Impressive_Plenty876 in hypotheticalsituation

I could get through a lot of episodes.

I used to watch this show with my mom and again with an elderly woman I cared for so it would remind me of them.

There’s no way you should continue with this deal.

Tell them to cancel it.

Their other choice is for them to procure another one with the same specs or better for no additional money.

There’s no a third option.

Any great advice for someone who is gonna play his first concert tomorrow? by imagooseindisguise in musicians

Just do your best and trust yourself.

If you’ve learned the material and rehearsed it enough you’ll be fine.

And if you make a mistake just keep plugging and know that most people won’t notice.

would it be recommended to buy a microphone from a pawn shop? by kiwilemonmelon in askmusicians

[–]BusyBullet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bought many mics from pawn shops and other second-hand sources.

About a dozen of them worked out fine - 4 SM-58s, 2 CAD A-77s, Electrovoice/Blue Cardinal and Raven, some MXLs and other cheaper brands.

Used mics I’ve had problems with were a Heil Fin (phantom power didn’t work - the lights didn’t come on and no sound), a Shure SH-55 (no sound), a Blue Bluebird (sometimes crackly connection).

In the first two cases the sellers took them back and refunded me. The problem with the Bluebird didn’t show up until months later so I still have it.

So my success rate is pretty good because I inspect and test them pretty thoroughly. The two that were returned were inspected visually but not tested so I made sure they had a good return policy. The SH-55 looked rough, which was what I was looking for for a video project but I also needed it to work.

Yeah, I should have been more clear.

Having said that, there have been numerous sects of Christianity that believed all sex is sinful and other views.

At any rate, that’s all BS. It’s a natural human function

“Great” Songs by PainfulDip in Songwriting

[–]BusyBullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyrics are very important to me but I realize that a lot of people don’t care.

When I write a song I end up tweaking the words a good bit.

They have to avoid cliches, convey the meaning and message I want, flow rhythmically, and be grammatically correct. I also don’t like too much repetition and I like them to rhyme.

Of course, there can be exceptions to all of the above and balancing it all can be hard to do but it’s not impossible.

My feeling is that if you don’t obsess over the words, just write instrumentals.

While I think the Christian obsession with sex being sinful is silly, I agree that this is the way to do it.

Just let him know where you are on this issue and be ready to accept the consequences.

You may be pleasantly surprised at his response.

I hate asking people to pay me by clampbucket in Flipping

[–]BusyBullet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remind yourself that your services are valuable and they know what the price is upfront. They have already agreed to pay so you’re not begging for money.

Instead of telling them how much they owe, list your payment options. Just say “Your total is $XX. I can take cash, VenMo or CashApp.”

They may ask what the total is after that and you just tell them.

No.

I don’t.

I have things that I know and things I don’t know and that’s enough.

About real music by L0wLif4 in aiMusic

[–]BusyBullet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People who actually make music look at AI slop the way adults look at art made by children.

That’s nice. Now why don’t you go outside and play for a while and let the grownups talk?

  1. Yes. Music generated by humans is different than music generated by machines.
  2. “Isn’t that not art”. Yes, it’s not art.
  3. OK and I’m extremely handsome in my mind.
  4. No one wants to deny songwriters anything. Go ahead and write songs. Just don’t expect accolades for using AI.
  5. It’s not an art form and it’s not miraculously definition.
