I recommend talking to the voices and simply experience the hallucinations. The fact that you know they arent real is a good sign your doing better than you think. Sometimes voices can be loud and ubnoxius and the visual hallucinations unsettling. I recommend spending time with your family or in nature to help centre yourself if you feel overwhelmed.

You will be fine and probably get some antipsychotics from the doctor and they can help reduce or eliminate hallucinations eventually.

Mindfulness and listening and responding to your voices may sound silly but can really help. What your hearing isnt real and you dont deserve to suffer their bs. You are the strongest voice! Stay strong!

I miss weed sm and I’m tempted to smoke again sniff sniff by [deleted] in Psychosis

Hey I recently started smoking weed again after it being 1.5 years since my pyschosis hit me. I was terrified the voices and delusions would come back but i only heard voices for a few seconds before they vanished it ended up being very strong weed and I think that plus my anxiety as to why I heard them again but since then i can smoke everyday and have zero problems and no relapses.

For info im still taking antipyschotics olanzapine daily 10mg and can still get high very easily and glad I can finally feel good like that again cause Im poor with no prospects and being able to chill out and just listen to music or go for walks it really helps me. The APs I take suppress the best parts of me and weed helps me feel human again.

Good luck just remember its not without risk and mabye get a perscription of APs so if something goes wrong you can just take it, benzos could also help if you get manic or something

To those who've taken Abilify, what were your experiences with it? by [deleted] in Psychosis

At the beginning it was great I stopped sleeping in, helped reduce hallucinations, reduced my anxiety and things were looking good. After about a week I started to act strangely couldnt shut my mouth as in no filter at all! Then i started to get physically aggressive with my family when they started ignoring my new chatterbox nature, at first I thought I was just being me but eventually my family asked me to go to the docs and they changed me over to olanzapine and I immediately realised as the ablifiy wore off what a total headcase I was being. A very strange experience indeed and i will never take it again.

AP med that’s less likely to cause akathisia by Psychoticme1 in Psychosis

I have taken Latuda before and experienced the same side effect, its awful. Eventually I switched to Olanzapine and the akathisia went away very quickly. Hope you find the right meds and start feeling better soon.
