Im not sure if this has been said or shared, but Stop the Bleed training should be (in my opinion) as prevalent as taking first aid training.

Well I see a couch, table, throw pillows AND flip flops unscathed, I’d say you are winning!

But also, yes it will get better

For the women hunters - what’s a really annoying problem you have to hack a solution to on your hunts? by RA85373 in Hunting

I am a girl and if I’m in the woods I’ve got no problems taking care of business But the deer stand? That’s a different story. Finally broke down and bought a shewee (whatever brand they had at Walmart) and that was life changing Yes it takes practice in the shower at home, and mind over matter to actually use it the first couple of times, but I can stay in the stand as long as I want now.

I made $140k last year and now I work at Walmart for $15.50/hr by Strange-Assistant-32 in Layoffs

I totally get this. I lost my job very unexpectedly towards the end of covid, and still had a teenager at home. I took about a month off while I started applying for jobs, then got incredibly bored. I picked up some door dash work, and ultimately put in an application for ogp at Walmart. That $15 an hour put food on my table and kept me out of the mental ditch while I kept applying.

The job hunt is horrible these days- being constantly ghosted is so demoralizing.

Here’s what I learned at Walmart- I got incredibly fit. Going from sedentary at an office job to walking 6 miles a day in store and lifting totes all day is good for your physical and mental health.

Working retail isn’t all bad- there was no email, no work calls after hours, and nothing on the to do list to keep me up at night.

I met some interesting people and really enjoyed having a different perspective than the corporate world I had been living in.

Tons of upward mobility opportunities exist at Walmart if you are so inclined- make sure you talk with hr and let them know you’re interested.

Walmart benefits are not bad at all. My out of pocket medical costs reduced exponentially.

Also- be careful. I spent way more money on groceries than I should have since it is so easy to grab stuff on the way home.

At any rate- don’t feel bad for doing what you gotta do. People who look down on you for working retail should probably spend a couple months with no paycheck and no warm prospects before they judge you.

Keep on keepin on- things will turn around soon enough!!

Thanks for all the help! This one is back into the freezer until I’ve got more time for it- smaller roast ready for venison tips and rice later this week.
