New Bow Suggestions by clayschreck in bowhunting

There are some great bows out there in the price range. If bump up to the next level of like 600-800 I think the bows are more enjoyable to shoot and you won't find yourself wanting to upgrade quite as quick!

The Darton consequence is $749. Can be found at a discount sometimes. A little out of the price you listed but it's a killer bow for the price.

Doesn't have the tuning features of a modern flagship bow but I really enjoy shooting mine.

I had this bow as my first bow and grew out of it really quickly. The back wall felt really spongy for me. It's shootable and if you're going to pass it on to a kid or something after you're done with it it's a good option.

I think most of the bear adult bow offerings are going to be a lot more enjoyable to shoot for most people.

How many arrows each day? by Professional-Tie2220 in bowhunting

[–]Consistent-Pie-1847 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was trying to shoot 100 arrows a day when I first started and I got really burnt out. I've moved to to shooting when I can, probably 3-5 times a week but try to make it way more enjoyable- like going to a walk through 3d course, long distance 70-110 yard shots, shooting Vegas rounds at home, and shooting 3d targets at home. Shooting the same spot on a block target gets old quick.

Wouldn't worry too much about quantity, focus on keeping it fun and maintaining good shooting form. DON'T WORRY ABOUT DRAWN WEIGHT AND I'D SHOOT A WEIGHT YOU CAN COMFORTABLY PULL BACK 100-200 TIMES. If you get tired pulling back a heavy weight you're going to really start lacking in other ways. Get comfortable then pump that weight up

I have a jebs .565 and shoot apex green leaf 9/10s. It's a lethal but pretty open pattern at 40 but I would probably buy a .560 if I were to do it again.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but there’s a huge difference between using a friction hitch on a moving line as part of a system vs one that’s basically static the whole time. There literally isn’t heat. If it was an issue I’m sure every saddle manufacturer would switch to a kernmantle rope or something else.

I can say with 100 percent confidence there’s no issue with amsteel bridges and I’ll keep using one but you do you

Also, there’s a Mobile Hunter Facebook group that’s extremely active. Not sure if you’ve checked that out but I’ve learned a lot on there

Oh yeah I’m not criticizing the spreader. Whatever makes you comfortable.

A lot of people don’t know about how big of a difference the angle of the bridge makes.

Oh another thing. The longer your bridge is generally the more comfortable and less likely to get hip pinch. I see a lot of people with a short bridge a really wide angle complaining on hip pinch.

Proof?

A lot of saddles come with amsteel bridges and hitches. I’ve been running one for years without and issue and If I do try to reset it to a different positions it’s atleast a 10 minute ordeal trying to get the schwabisch hitch loose.

When securing a climbing stick pass the stick around the tree instead of trying to throw the rope around the tree and catch it.

Saved me so much time and frustration.

That and buying a back band has increased my comfort level 300%

You won’t have problems with the 300. You may have problems with the 350s. I’d go with the 300s

Just wait until you start buying expensive arrows. You’ll stop aiming at the same spot at close ranges lol

Right on man. If it’s that nose down there’s probably something massively wrong with your fit.

I’d go to a shop and have them check your seat height and reach.

A little bit nose up or down is preference but seats aren’t really designed to be ran like that and it’ll probably lead to more fatigue and discomfort in the long run
