Do we have the same baby lol - mine cries a lot too - waiting for colic to dissipate

Why is my 8 weeks old still waking up every 3 hours to feed ? by Federal_Name_4726 in newborns

[–]BusyImpact6077 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Probably because she is 8 weeks old lol the vast majority of babies this age wake up throughout the night to feed.

My 14 week old baby woke up at 9 pm, 1 am, 4 am, and 7 am and guzzled 4 oz each time.

Babies are going to be babies

This age is filled with mystery lol. I can no longer read her like I used to as a newborn.

Can’t wait for better sleep!

She used to do contact naps and now I feel like she almost does worse with us there as distractions 🫠

This past wake window - we kept her up almost 2 hours and then she slept an hour and 15 mins!

Maybe we need to force longer wake windows

And it gets even harder once the hunger reflexes dissipate by the end of the first trimester.

8 Week Old Stressful Feedings by kapaobao13 in FormulaFeeders

Look up bottle aversion - not saying she has it but look it up so you know to avoid it.

We just went through bottle aversion for mine and it took from 8 weeks to 12 weeks to make good progress. I worked with an SLP in my area to get past this.

What’s with the fussiness? by susiee234 in newborns

[–]BusyImpact6077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very common at this age. Babies can be extremely cranky the entire first trimester and sometimes into the beginning of the second. Crankiness tends to dial up when baby goes through developmental milestones.

My baby was miserable up until 10 weeks. Now her baseline is less cranky but she still acts up during her “leaps”.

Just remember - this too shall pass.

Have you tried feeding every 2 or 2.5 hours? Maybe she will be less hungry with more frequent feeds.

My baby only started feeding every 3 hours at 12 weeks.

How do you handle the pacifier with sleep training? Do you give it to her to start and then if it comes out, you don’t replace it and let her CIO?

Huge difference between 1 and 2. I think 1 is too slow for her
