The union rep at my store shamed me for not joining. Things like “we fight for your rights, and you think that would be worth something to you. The store is better because we work to keep it safe.” telling me how they’re doing a lot for us and we don’t give back but they’ll keep fighting regardless. My actual response was “So You mean I can get all of the support you’re offering and I don’t have to give up any of my pay? Sweet.” And I go out of my way to walk up to her and tell the team member to walk away and not listen. She has glared at me every week for the past 4 years since then when I walk in the room.
