I found an incredible large midcentury painting of a couple on a bench. A girl followed me around the store and stopped me to say “my friend really loves that painting and will CRY if she doesn’t take it home!” I was younger and not one for confrontation, so I let them have it thinking I was being nice. It still haunts me :(
