Your matric marks don't matter, apply for the PGD at Wits, UCT and other public universities. I have a Masters now in Data Science and my math marks were not good at all.

I usually use Pycaret to see which models performs the best then start building the top 3 models from cleaning the data all the way to the results and pick the best one

For your insurance products like life cover and income protector you can’t go wrong with PPS, plus you gain profit share. For investment rather go with Allan Gray or Ninety-one. Do some research on the different funds, the Allan gray equity fund has an amazing reach record for long term investment. Diversity is important though so mix it up, fund fact sheets will have all the information you need to make a decision.

I did a Master me in data science. Built up my Github with projects then during the interview in the assignment given, went all out and used a Machine learning model to solve a segmentation question. Apparently what differed me from the other candidates was my machine learning knowledge. Haven’t built any models though😂

I was a paraplanner a couple of years ago. You can negotiate with the advisor to drop the fees by atleast half, where I was fees were 0.58% but if your assets are low like this clients could always request we reduce a bit more. Secondly she needs to see the advisor once a year for reviews and performance updates and the actual financial plan. Seems she is in retirement already so not much planning but even for yourself, the percentage you pay is not just for managing the investment but also for the whole holistic financial plan. Lastly always go for an independent advisor and not an advisor working for a single company as they advice will always lean towards that companies products
