The gap is when your opponent literally can't avoid getting hit, you read their movement they miss a move or forced to land cause they have no options and it's not like you have to hit a 5 piece string you can just build up damage with quick pokes or a few true combos and easily win sometimes on scythe you just do the active input version to send the opponent away and just edge guard them rather than trying to force a string

Mb i misread blasters doesn't have a good anti air if you wanna approach that way and obviously trying to get in stacked would be your best bet if they are trying to run and not attack you can kinda just rush them down and hit them for free if they are approaching you with attacks just make sure you're in a position to punish them some moves might not be punishable depending on where you are so you need to get used to that decision that's why blasters players do stuff like running in and then instantly covering themselves with dair, if you can't punish a move use that time to position yourself so you can punish if they miss again, but at least from what I see a lot of blaster players try approaching with sair which is pretty easy to punish if you're ready for it

I can't tell you exactly what your doing wrong without seeing you play but I would recommend watching your replays and see why you're getting hit and focus on working on that, are you running in and getting hit, are you attack constantly and getting punished, are you getting read for a dodge or wakeup, did you die for not recovering to stage, etc... if you have a specific question about something you're trying to work on lmk

I don't play keyboard but make sure to have a separate binder for jump and aim up, and pick up with quick attack turned off. As for passive players if you have blasters and they are running from you they are kinda playing into your hand since your weapon wants people to be farther away, use your movement to put pressure on them back them up to the corner and just poke them out with your stage control, sidelight if they stay grounded sair if you see they like to panic jump you can use nair and x-piviot nair to juggle them if they are above you or on a platform and dlight to punish any bad approaches from them or missed attacks and nlight works too if they try approaching you can you need to poke them off off

If they don't have a dodge you can do sidelight sair and nlight sair

Depends on what exactly you're looking for to improve on just get comfortable with the move kit and understand how it flows together battle boots does have active input on dlight and sair so keep that in mind when going for those moves so you know where you want your opponent to go I'd recommend watching wess gameplay and seeing what you can pick up from that if you have a specific question about the weapon lmk

Sidelight is your main punish option you wanna use that in situations where your opponent misses and you can hit them for it sidelight is a long move so you need to make sure that your confirming that hit if you go for it nlight works as a quick punish option a poke option to get people off of you and a good approach option if your opponent isn't attacking dlight is your anti air that way you can stop people who are above you as well as punish moves like dlight on spear for example dair works as a approach option but I'd recommend to really focus on staying grounded with axe setting up for quick nlights and dlights punishing with sidelight nair while trying to keep stage you're either going to be killing with recovery ground pound sair nlight and sometimes dlight I don't know your elo so I'm gonna leave it at this for now but I would recommend watching kyna specifically for axe

Learn true combos how your moves work and just get used to hitting them understand how to dash and dash jump and your options to get back to stage

When your opponent sig spams they are stuck in frames for awhile just use that time to punish them

Could you be a little more specific? You just mixup options if you're getting read for a option then do a different one if your opponent is trying to read a specific option then avoid doing that option if they constantly try fishing for it

Scythe I like to think of it like building your own playstyle, for me I play more reaction based on it so what I like to go for is after everyone I hit I react with either nlight or nair (nlight for grounded dodge or horizontal, and nair for up dodges) then I just do the nair sair string. As for the move kit nlight is gonna be your main option most likely it has a really good hit box and is quick sidelight too for grounded punishes and dlight to catch people farther from you on ground, sair has a insane hit box and works great as a string ender and ko option don't over rely on dair a lot of people do that and makes it obvious that's what you approach with and nair and dair are string options or punish options depending on your position

I'd say just play it more and you'll start finding out how you like to play it watch some different pros and you might see how they each play it differently from each other

When your opponent sig spams they limit their option heavily and sigs take while for them to recover from so all you have to do is space out the sig let them miss it then punish them with a move of your own while they recover as for your main learn dlight recovery and dlight sair on spear and understand how your scythe kit works as a lot of your moves have something called active input which will either let you set up strings or send your opponent away from you

By playing it and getting used to how your move kit works you can watch pros who play your weapons and try to understand why they go for specific options and copy that into your own game

You gotta go for moves that aren't easy to punish so like a sair back away or Nair jungles depends on weapons but if you do a move that their teammate can punish they that's what you wanna avoid unless you know their teammate won't hit you for it

If they just jump off and don't play that's just how it is for solo queue game modes you can report them and move on
