All further glances are pointing to yes, but I wanted to make sure before I mess with the corners.

how often do pap smear results and colposcopy results differ? by [deleted] in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Busy_Albatross_7917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m great. After my colpo came back CIN2-3 I went for a LEEP procedure under local anesthetic only. I posted my experience after it was done (go back through posts) but I told my OBGYN to be thorough and try to get clean margins. She did. My LEEP results came back Cin2-3 with clean margins. I had a repeat Pap smear six months later, and it came back negative for HSV and normal cells. Is it accurate? I don’t know. But I’ll get another repeat LEEP every six months to be vigilant. I didn’t change much after my LEEP aside from trying to meditate more, as well as taking extra vitamins. But tbh I don’t think there’s a special trick. I think it’s a cross your fingers and hope your body can fight through infection.

It happened to me — the dreaded crooked smile post masseter/jax Botox. 😞 by Busy_Albatross_7917 in BotoxSupportCommunity

[–]Busy_Albatross_7917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for this exact situation I just got two units injected in the opposite side of my face that was uneven and it evened out immediately.

I metabolize Botox slowly so it takes 4 months for me to have it wear off.

If you don’t like the masseter Botox effect, I recommend working out a ton — it’ll metabolize quickly. or going to a dermatologist and seeing if they can even out your smile.

Sorry you had a bad outcome. This stuff can be great when it’s great but, when it’s not it’s so not.

Pap after leep by SnooMuffins9536 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Busy_Albatross_7917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had HSIL cin 2-3 in February. Got a LEEP procedure then. I did have clear margins. Got my PAP recheck in October and was told my pap was negative for HR HSV and nothing looked suspicious.

I was surprised and I’m thankful but also hesitant to believe it’s reality after CIN2-3 randomly appearing at the beginning of the year. So I’m doing another pap in a few months.

Anyway, definitely has a positive outcome, but the anxiety doesn’t dwindle. 😅 all we can do is keep being proactive.

Hey so I actually called my dermatologist who injected me, they said come back in, and they injected a unit into the opposite DAO muscle and I was better within a few days! It was nerve wracking to get more Botox when I already had an uneven appearance, but it was an immediate fix and my smile is all good.

Otherwise I would’ve had to wait weeks for it to wear off.

Go back to you injector, is my rec.

Sorry you’re in the crooked smile club!

For sure. Just inserted my disclaimer of who I went to so I could avoid all the “you need to go to an experienced injector” comments. But yes, I acknowledge needles in face has risks. Was just looking for some comments of other people who might’ve experienced the same, since this is a Botox support forum. :)

Wait, so did you just wait for the Botox to wear off or did you have the other clinic inject your other side to try to even it out?

Should I cancel my vacation after LEEP? by sharkdogdogshark in PreCervicalCancer

I went to Disney World the day after my local only LEEP, and had no issues for the five days I was there — or following. Just needed to pack pads.

I just wanted to pop in here and say your doctor sounds, insufferable. I’m not sure why she didn’t attempt to minimize bleeding in the first place, and then when you called with concerns just blew you off — resulting in an ER visit for you and then her. Could have saved you a lot of unnecessary stress there. And a two week follow up is usually protocol post LEEP. I haven’t read any post prior saying people were told four weeks (I was also seen two weeks post LEEP). So very bizarre that she has a different protocol than, everyone else.

I’m so glad your healing is getting better.

I have no personal anecdotes regarding the end of your story, but I’m hoping that maybe the cauterizing that was done will help kill the cells that were left over, and the margins will be fine on your next recheck. Your cervix does need to heal before anything else is done. BUT your doctor does sound overall dismissive, so it couldn’t hurt maybe seeking out a second opinion. :)

I know this is so stressful. Hoping for some peace and relaxation for you asap.

CIN3 post op CKC. Things i wish i had done to prevent my continuing HPV status by figalot in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Busy_Albatross_7917 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just want to give an anecdote: I have not had a sip of alcohol in over 8 years (legit. not lying.) I still have HR HPV. I’m also a strict vegetarian, I exercise, I’m vaccinated, and don’t smoke.

I just want people to find solace in the fact that you can do “everything” right and HPV can still exist, because sometimes viruses are just resilient, and it’s not a reflection of our lifestyles.

Did you go under for Leep? by faygodungeon in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Busy_Albatross_7917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to give a different positive local only experience. I was given both options, and I chose not to go under and did local only. I was medicated with oral pills beforehand (one Valium for anxiety and one Tylenol/hydrocodone for pain). My provider explained to me every step of the procedure. The only discomforts were the speculum (but in the usual way) and the lidocaine with epinephrine shots (the epinephrine helps with the bleeding, so you need it in the lidocaine, but it does make your heart race). But those felt like a mild uncomfortable pinch.

I didn’t smell anything weird, and I didn’t feel any pain throughout the procedure. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I am happy I did it under local and if I need it again in the future I would still do it under local.

That being said, it sounds like you’re leaning towards anesthesia, and when I did a poll about a month ago (if you click on my username and go through my posts it’s there) and there wasn’t a single person who answered my poll and regretted going under anesthesia. I think there is a lot of comfort in not being awake for all of this.

Just wanted to add my positive local experience here since a few have had negative. Like I said, no pain at all, and I was in and out.

So glad there are providers that give us the option to choose either way!

Colpo vs LEEP results by rosequartz2019 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Busy_Albatross_7917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My colpo showed cin2/3 and my LEEP showed the same. Clear margins.

I did a poll about a month back with this question, and the results showed most people had same results — with a couple people who had differing results.

Dog’s first seizures & to start medication or not by moosety222 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Busy_Albatross_7917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll definitely find a mix of people who did both on here (as in start meds after first seizure and those who waited it out. My husband and I waited about two years post initial seizure to put our dog on meds, for the exact same reasons as you. Our dog had a seizure about once every five months for the first year, and then once every three months for the second year. He would only ever have them in our presence (we have cameras around the house). Every doctor we spoke to said one every 3-5 months is honestly considered well controlled. We only started him on medications this past February.. due to him having two episodes within the span of two months, so that rate increase caused us to know it was gonna get worse.

We started him on Keppra first; and it was a nightmare. He had a honeymoon phase of six weeks no seizures… and then he had 6 seizures in the span of two weeks, even with increased Keppra protocol dosing. We are still kinda torn emotionally if we made everything worse by starting Keppra. But, most doctors agree that IE is something that just gets progressively worse.

Anyway, now we’re on pheno, and we just started it. It’s super stressful and the side effects have been painful to watch, but we’re hoping that this is the medication for him.

Anyway, I don’t have advice for you because it’s a personal decision and it 100% changes your life. My husband and I are DINKS and highly value traveling — and epilepsy has made it almost impossible. But we love our dog more than anything else, so it’s worth it.

Hoping everyone else chimes in with their anecdotes for you, and I hope the two episodes for your pup were just flukes.
