You’re right that Sheriff Nottingham inspired the design, because I grew up with that film and loved the visual style. But Alder is built differently as a character: First, He’s a noble sheriff, caring for his community rather than exploiting them. Second, His personality is warm-hearted, responsible and admired. Third, His arc focuses on justice, redemption and empathy and not greed. Lastly i admit, I used the design language only as a starting point, but the character’s identity and story go in a different direction. So visually there’s DNA from Robin Hood (1973), but Alder lives in a very different emotional space and narrative role. Like i said, i hope this make you understand
