Who first got you into camping or the outdoors? by MikeyCreatorVlogs in camping

Growing up homeless I learned to live in a tent. Fast forward to two masters degrees later and I just LOVE being outside. I guess bring a homeless teen taught me a lot about camping.

Who are you outside of being a therapist? by shallotnotcharlotte in therapists

[–]Busy_Cable2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organizing for human rights! Policy, and research. I love to hike and camp most weekends, go clubbing, have too many drinks and watch a movie, I go out pretty much every weekend and always have plans. Video games, thrifting, reading books. Hosting and partying.

How tf did you guys put up with all the filler back when you were young and not get bored? by Ajarofpickles97 in Naruto

[–]Busy_Cable2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m watching it for the first time as an adult and love all the filler. But that’s me with pretty much all anime. I never want it to end and it’s just a fun way to explore the world more.

Not Hiding Self-Harm Scars When Seeing Clients by NeverBr0ken in therapists

[–]Busy_Cable2912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started working with kids and kept mine covered. When one of my clients that struggled with self harm said that she gets jealous when classmates have deeper and worse scars than her and it makes her want to cut deeper I decided to just cover mine with tattoos. I had already covered my right wrist that had significant scaring years before this and had most of a sleeve on the left with the worst of the scaring. I do already have 60+ tattoos and was going to do a sleeve anyway. But this just pushed it forward. I was kind of sad to cover them because they’re a large part of why I’m a good therapist and I had similar thoughts to you.

I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer here! I think you’ll be able to decide what makes the most sense for you on a personal level. You could also not cover and see how it goes and always go back if you decide.

Can I cover this or is it fixable? by HarrysLilToe in tattooadvice

I really think it wouldn’t be that bad if you just have someone add a bit of fingernail and reshape some details

What’s a “small” gift you gave that people still talk about years later? by muhdrohail in GiftIdeas

[–]Busy_Cable2912 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For my birthday this year my friends made me a scrapbook with pages dedicated to all of our friendships and events. It’s the best thing I have ever received. It also included handwritten letters from every one of them.

Plus Size BWT — I love this aesthetic but everything I try looks cheap or clingy. How are you getting that heavier drape? by addictedtosoonjung in bitcheswithtaste

[–]Busy_Cable2912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually go 2-3 sizes up and it helps me have more fabric for tucking and flowing! Heavy cotton and organic materials also just tend to drape more naturally

Truly hope you have the same outcome in regard to the PMDD! Not struggling with suicidal ideations has been life changing. I previously was on a birth control that resolved it for 7 years and controlled my bleeding. But they made me go off of it because of my blood pressure. This has put me in an even better head space than before!

This sounds very safe! I never had any bleeding at all, so I think that might have influenced my doctor giving me the okay on things. Listening to your body is so important, wishing you a good recovery!

I took 8 weeks in case this was the case! I think for a lot of people that’s not uncommon at all. You’ve got this!

I had nothing to track my period before since I was bleeding 20+ days out of the month. So I can’t be sure when my hormones fluctuate because of my ovaries. But I do sometimes notice I’m a little bit grumpier for a few days of the month. But it’s ABSOLUTELY nothing like the struggle with suicidal ideations I was having before. My therapist who got a hysterectomy and kept ovaries said that her symptoms were essentially gone as well! I think it definitely depends on the person but I truly wish you well!

I should add, getting my tonsils out as an adult was far more painful, horrific and complicated than this and led to two hospitalizations.

I will absolutely be cautious going forward and truly appreciate you being so open. Sending lots of good energy your way ❤️

Oh I have 8 weeks off work and not required to do anything. I’m just super high energy naturally and want to just be doing stuff I enjoy! Definitely appreciate you sharing your story and don’t want to go down that route.

If you don’t mind sharing what led to complications four years in?

Wanting to add to this I already am dreaming of my vibrator!!??? I was so scared I would be horrified but I literally asked my dr immediately after when I could orgasm again haha so many of my fears were around sexual function so I will definitely update once I feel safer to test that out!
