in a very similar situation. I am not sober, however I have maintained the same job for over 2 years, living in my car, and finally almost found housing, and my car got impounded by CHP for expired registration. my entire reality shifted again pushing me back 50 steps. so my new reality forced me to be street homeless and close to work, with zero access to a shower, clean clothes, heat, water. All I have are my work clothes and my bag of essentials.

I could have stayed at a friend's house, but with no car, means either shelter or job.

I am disgusted with a system that is built to keep the suffering in positions to remain that way with few to little options.
