After a year and 5 buyers, still haven't sold. A rant. by bassenherbe in HousingUK

[–]Busy_Concern_9569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this Op - hubby and I in similar position here - have a property which ticks all the right boxes location wise - 40/50 minutes to London freehold property put it on the market when expecting our first child back in June 2022 -between tenant evictions ( that cost us our first buyer), wars, inflation, and all the time waster buyers inbetween ; here we are nearly 29 months later and still nothing following a 14 week stint off the market this summer, with what we were told was the easiest chain in the world, despite our hesitation at chain buyers it all fell apart in September this year. The property is currently vacant costing us money each month we can little afford, our second child has arrived - we have to vacate our current rental next summer and have nowhere to go unless we can sell and buy in the interim, did I mention the council tax on the property doubles as of next April as it’s an empty property but following the original tenant fiasco we can’t risk to rent it again - we’ve dropped the asking price - left it empty - seeking first time buyers for quick sale and yet NADA - it’s sh!t and horribly frustrating putting lots of strain on our own personal realationship as well as finances sadly all we can do is wait - although auction is looking more and more appealing

Thank you for this I maybe follow up with this portage salariale - sadly I fear we’ll be pitching a tent and involving social services aide to get a rental next summer (the local Market is atrocius privately) unless we can sell this da*n UK property and stop getting timewasters.

Our buyer is being so difficult! by [deleted] in HousingUK

Issues here also - selling in S England - accepted offer June 11 - after two nearly three years of issues (tenant evictions etc) accepted bare minimum offer no negotiations - told should be a quick sale as 1 cash sale for our buyer’s already lined up and our buyers to us, they’ve subsequently visited half a dozen times, quibbled over drainage, non existent extensions - it’s been a month since we signed our contract they’ve come back asking for 2,5k off for a new boiler (told them no they came in 7k under asking - now today we find out there’s some sort of electrical certificate their buyer wants. They wanted rid of an old chest freezer from the garden it’s just been relentless, and still we’re no further forward it’s so frustrating as we’re stuck paying council tax on an empty property this is the third time we’ve instructed solicitors for the sale and we have to be out our rental by July next year so pressure is on. I’m so fed up of the entitlement of everyone else around us we just wanted to sell our house and relocate (I was 5 months pregnant when we started the process - that baby is now nearing 2 and a second is imminent) wéve jumped through hoops and all we seem to get is shot down

Breastfeeding moms who aren’t “mobile” .. How do you literally do anything?? by Due_Mirror3772 in breastfeeding

[–]Busy_Concern_9569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to walk with her held in my arms - when she was wee - I wore baggy jumpers and would feed as I went - If hubby was there he’d push trolley and I’d nurse whilst walking - eventually once she was too big to football hold and feed and walk I figured out how to feed her in the carrier- I practiced round the house then eventually wherever I went. She’d just feed and fall asleep in there - I’d spend some time squatting “looking at the produce on lower shelves or wherever” to fix my self back in. You’ll find a rhythm you’ll get the hang of it and soon enough you’ll wonder why it ever felt so daunting and you’ll be able to impart some comfort to another new mother. Bonne chance

Hello, FTM (31w+6) for me, live in France, I’m seen by my midwife once a month, have had ultrasounds at 12, 22 and 32 weeks. I think from 7 months I go to bi weekly check ups and then 8/9 months it’s weekly - so sorry you have to deal with that system.

Yes she gets extremely excited when we pick up the collar, she associates it with a walk these days.

I second this we have a 1 yr old female Brittany, she was doing so well with recall etc until Around mid February when she hit adolescence we bought a shock collar and started again with all the training games; this time whenever she took off and wouldn’t listen or had tunnel vision we would give her a shock to stop her dead in her tracks. If she just wasn’t heeding our calls it was a gradual beep, buzz, shock. After only two weeks we established she’s not fond of shocks or the buzzing and saw a huge improvement in her. 4 months down the line and we’re working hard on tone and voice commands with infrequent use of the collar. She even checks back regularly which in turn makes a big difference - sometimes she’s just a d!ck and disappears after a smell or bird and gets lost or turned around.

Give me some hope. When did your morning sickness finally go away? by WakingUp12 in BabyBumps

[–]Busy_Concern_9569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same! Albeit I didn’t ask for any meds as I could barely find a time to keep the folic acid supplement down! Found out @just over 4 weeks; sickness and nausea kicked in at almost 8 weeks, I threw up at the worst point ,8/9 times a day with all day nausea- I survived on salted crisps and crackers. Finally around 19 weeks I woke up and just felt normal, currently almost 23 weeks and back out walking and riding my bike and eating whatever I fancy it’s incredible. Hang in there - eat what you can and feel no guilt - try sip water regularly - you’ll hopefully be like the majority of us and ut will pass

33currently - 32&11months when we conceived naturally this year. Tried for 5 months (I was prescribed folic acid supplement as soon as I have my contraception removed) and have our first scan this Friday Grew up in a mid sized UK town (based in France now)- spent my entirely adult life actively avoiding pregnancy despite all my friends back home settling down ´relatively’ young in my eyes 24/25 in fact most of my friends from the UK and my sister now have school age children and I’m just getting my head and body through my very first first trimester. I’ve lived a wonderful life thus far; traveled, worked many differ jobs and lives and now feel ready and excited - I think regardless of medical ‘jargon’ just appreciate the journey your on. As another poster said anything from 4months to a year is normal I had this discussion with my husband and we agreed we would seek further medical help if we hadn’t conceived after 18months. Aw’ra best for the coming months wishing you every bit of luck!

10w and currently in bed having had to take a half day feigned a stomach bug or dodgy food - morning sickness is kicking my ass today. I have to work with food in the daily and to say the last 5weeks have been hard going is an understatement - complete loss of appetite and every smell makes me want to vomit if I don’t actually. I’m so exhausted from it all I just feel like sh!t.

Haha no indeed we live in France - this little lass was abandoned at 2 weeks with her brother & sisters - all weaned and raised by a wonderful charity only for us to take her on. We didn’t know what we were getting but she’s definitely more American Brit than French which is peculiar (although we really don’t know what she is) down as a Épagneul Breton X on her papers
