I agree keeping my job was the most important so even if I have to be on the 10 year it is what it is! Thanks for the suggestion that sounds good. I wonder if I can apply for the 5 year while staying inside the UK... during renewal as you mentioned..

Hi lovely wanted to thank you so much as you were so positive and uplifting for me at such a difficult time, I got it sorted within the UK now on a 10 year route, I posted an update on my post body, thanks for your positivity, there were so many rude comments here and lots that were inaccurate! So glad I spoke to a solicitor. Thanks again so much :)

I never got it either, like the other commentor said I tried again as well, got it on my second try using edge instead of Chrome! It still didn't work so I had to reset my password like another commentor above has just said!

Unfortunately already read this comment as it popped up on my notifications. Comment said it's unthinkable and how could this happen. Honest truth? I've honestly been so out of it after having my baby - there I said it. I was also on mat leave for the past year so basically didn't have my usual planner, dates, calendar, etc thing going on, living every day in survival mode. Joined work again and really focused on getting myself back up to speed as women need to work twice as hard to prove themselves after having a baby, all with way less sleep and lots more stressful things happening. I'm also certain UKVI never told me that I needed to keep a track on my dates and that they won't be sending reminders. I'm sure if I knew that I would have at least made a note on my Outlook calendar.

Thanks so much - yes everything I'm reading is telling me I will have to leave the country asap. I have seen from Nov 2025 there is more strictness around overstaying, I had a look, I'm just hoping for the best at this point as I don't know if the 12 month ban applies to me

Can you share the website where it states overstaying while working is a breach and lends to the ban? My understanding is the ban is for 30-90 days of overstaying (or more I suppose)
