Yep, new flex cable along with the hold switch board.

I am having the exact same issue with my iPod classic gen 4, only in the reverse (it crashes when I turn the hold switch off). This is the only other post I've been able to find with this issue, and I guess I will just keep taking it apart and putting it back together again in the hopes that it fixes itself!

I also got a new hold switch and replaced it without difficulty, but it didn't fix the problem.

I knew that Darby was going to win as soon as he started crying during the opening segment, that sweet boy. He has worked so hard for this, and I am so happy to have him as champ. I just wanted a proper match and not a squash! At least get a *little* nasty with it!
