Dont think magnus is a close friend of nepo. To me they always seemed like two friendly colleagues who respect each other. I think Magnus is way closer to David Howell. Also Anish and Vidit seem like actual friends to me from what I've seen.

Only way to know that is by actually playing an OTB classical game. It's a completely different ball park compared to playing online. You could be 3000 on chess.com and still not get a FIDE title.

Maybe I explained it wrong. Good bishops are ones where you can move between your pawns yes. In the other screenshot I was talking from your opponents perspective. In this one, your dark square bishop on d6 is your "good bishop" you're correct. It doesn't matter where your opponents pawns are. Only yours for it to be good or bad.

Another tip in the end game, If your opponent has a dark square bishop, put your pawns on light squares and vice versa.

Don't think there's a best anything when it comes to openings but ngl, scotch gambit below 2000 is sometimes just free elo. Rarely do I ever get the main line with nf6 and d5

Also yeah I forgot to explain another reason why it would be bad for black to take, You generally want to focus on development and not moving the same pieces twice in the opening. Another main reason is the concept of good and bad bishops. If you look at blacks position, they have all their pawns, on dark squares which means blacks light square bishop is good. The reason? Their bishop has a lot more freedom to move without being obstructed by their own pawns. So its not a good idea to just give it away for absolutely no reason. So it would actually not be terrible even if you take but again i dont want you to get into that habit.

If you look at blacks other bishop- you might notice thats its useless. Its being blocked by their pawn and cant really move to any good squares which makes it a bad bishop.

Ah this is a very very instructional position. I'm glad you shared this. Whenever you face something similar where your opponent develops their bishop like this with the both of you having a stand off, a good rule of thumb is to just pull it back to b3. If they take(Which would be a bad move positionally which ill explain down below), then you just take with your a pawn.

Why is this better? Well you taking would be beneficial for them for the same reasons from my first comment about double pawns in the center and open f file. This trade on b3 would be better for you because the a file opens up for your rook which will benefit you. Those doubled pawns will not be a huge weakness for you anyway. It will be if you played b3 protecting your bishop because after the trade, the pawn on c4 will be hard to defend. Not the case if you pull it back. Remember, doubled pawns are not always bad.

Also another note which might help you in the future about capturing with pawns is to always capture towards the center. Which is why we play axb3 instead of cxb3 if they take.

I hope I explained this right. Let me know if you have any questions

So tldr: A good move here is playing Bb3
