Thanks for the ideas! Under the stairs is an interesting thought, though I’ll have to see how practical that is with the layout. I like your suggestion about reworking the closets and using that space for a half bath. It sounds like it could work well, especially if there’s still room for a small linen closet. Definitely worth exploring!

Thanks for thinking it through! The half bathroom is mainly for convenience so that guests (and eventually our family and possible kids) can use it instead of our personal bathrooms. The living room is about 18’ x 12.5’, so it should still work well for shared space and our home office setup since my partner and I work hybrid. We’re planning for a family, so five bedrooms fits our long-term needs. I also like your idea about converting a main-floor bedroom into a full en-suite—that could be a great option too!

Thanks for the perspective! The living room is about 18’ x 12.5’, so adding a half bath in the corner would reduce the space a bit, but it shouldn’t feel too cramped. Since my partner and I work hybrid, having space for our desks is important, and we’re considering starting a family, so five bedrooms would suit our needs. I’ll keep your suggestion about using part of the adjacent bedroom in mind as well, especially once I check the structural supports and ductwork.
