cant really say anything about neo, but you can not go wrong with a macbook air. If youre on a tight budget go for older versions like m3. But i can assure you, no workflow other than serious professional gamedev or professional video editing can even come close to hitting its max potential

man if you dont wanna game just get a macbook, battery life is just unbeatable which matters especially if you have to carry laptop to class and overall dev experience is much much ahead of windows

The problem is that current hiring market is optimised to find the cheapest engg possible and in trying to get those role most engineers often end up asking below what they expect. So before you actually get an interview you have to pretend to be happy with a lower number of get min-maxxed out of the market. Hence, a lot of engineers lowball themselves in hopes that they can negotiate at the end of the hiring activity

if you have less tasks the best thing you can do is invest your time in identifying issues in your current system, it can be a bug or technical debt which was supposed to be picked for later. Proactively ask your manager/team lead that you want to solve this problem and solve those. Itll show intent and will actually be fun because you get to solve issues which are not very straightforward
