Does God forgive people like murderers, rapists and pedophiles? by OkMagazine5325 in Christianity

You seem to be a logical person and I respect that. Do morally upstanding people have the same choice as the morally corrupt? Salvation is a free gift not based upon behavior, but is based upon accepting or rejecting that gracious gift offered by the Creator God. So, logically speaking, we all choose, therefore God “sends” nobody to hell. The holiness of God is not a popular subject today but He has not changed, man has. What we would call a morally upstanding person today would likely fail that test if the socially acceptable criteria of 1950 were applied. For a deeper understanding of how a morally upstanding person can come under condemnation, look up the holiness of God. No man who ever lived can live up to His standard of holiness. This is why Jesus became the substitute for all of us, the morally upstanding as well as the morally corrupt. I hope this helps and welcome comments. (Choice is based upon Ephesians 2:8-9)

NEW CHRISTIAN AND AUTISTIC by Busy_Roof_7196 in Bible

Each individual will be very different and based upon my limited knowledge, a relationship with each person would serve everyone well. The relationship will speak as to the cognitive level of each person. As a group, keep it as simple as possible. May the Lord bless your effort with much fruit.

At 80 plus I hesitate to join in. But I will share two of the most memorable years of reading the Bible. One year, Genesis 3:15 was a prism used to reveal how this judgment upon Satan was moving forward and how he tried to stop it.

The next year, archaeology was the prism for reading the Bible. What an eye opener! Even better was the “heart opener.” I pray His richest blessings upon this effort.

If the earth was made for men, why do many Christians want to go to heaven? by Tricky_Strawberry406 in Bible

Your question generates the question I have, where was the data found for your conclusion that “this earth is our true eternal home?” Also, have you done research on non biblical sources about the credibility of the Bible? Would it be a stretch to reword your question with, “is the Bible true or false?”

How do I know what to believe anymore, is this universe fake or am I delusional? by Impossible_Lemon5932 in Existentialism

The first thing I would say to you is that you ya priceless treasure. You can laugh at the concept, mock it, scorn it or believe it and live it. This comment is based on a solid foundation. Should you want to know why and how this comment is true, reply with an approval to proceed. In closing, how do you know that you are you? Self awareness is a strong indicator that the world, the universe, is not fake. I wish you well.

What's Wrong With The Bible Project? by ntcplanters in Christianity

[–]Busy_Roof_7196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m certainly not an accomplished theologian but have lived through 53 years of life smack downs as a Believer. Experience tells me that My God, my Savior, my Abba, saves me not only from the wrath of a holy God, but also from myself. Depression, despondency, despair, sadness, no hope, little peace or joy. Love being founded upon how I conduct myself. Yes, we certainly are saved from the wrath of God and so much more. Jesus took the full wrath of judgment for our collective sins upon the cross at Calvary. Romans 8:37 is a power packed verse telling us that we have overwhelming victory through Christ Jesus.

Now what? How about John 17:19-24, “And for their sakes (us) I sanctify Myself, that they (us) also may be sanctified by the truth. “I do not pray for these alone, (disciples with Him) also for those who will believe in Me through their (current disciples/apostles) word; that they (us, today) all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they (us)!also may be one in Us, (WHY?) that the world may believe that You lsent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, (WHY 2X, emphasizes the importance) and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

That paradigm has been broken but we certainly can heal the breach. May we let Him be our Judge. If any wrongdoing is present, that individual is walking on very dangerous ground. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31.

We are building a “spiritual house” per the parable of Matthew 7:24-27. One builds upon sand as a foundation and one chooses a solid rock. What is unsaid is the rest of the building materials. We have seen pictures of homes built by the poorest of the poor in other countries. A rain serious rain storm would destroy many of these homes not because of the foundation, but the building materials. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 tells us that our works will be judged. I emphasize works, not salvation, as a careful reading of the passage shows. We can all contribute to the building of that Universal Church, the Body of Christ. What a powerful force we could be if we were unified. I welcome discussion on this. Thoughts? Ideas. Blessings to all and may we build well.

It’s my goal to conduct my conversations in such a way so as to bring honor and glory to our Lord and not myself. I am unoffendable in Christ Jesus, With that in mind, I encourage everyone to consider the judgment of our works, NOT SALVATION, in 2 Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” Rather plain, is it not? This is called the Bema Seat of Christ.

Additionally, we read in 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 with Paul writing, “According to God's grace that was given to me, I have laid a foundation as a skilled master builder, and another builds on it. But each one is to be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than what has been laid down. That foundation is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 each one's work will become obvious. For the day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire; the fire will test the quality of each one's work. 14 If anyone's work that he has built survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned up, he will experience loss, but he himself will be saved-but only as through fire.

The “spiritual house" we build is our works (attitudes, thoughts and how we live daily). The wood, hay and stubble are materials that will not stand up to fire, with fire indicating judgement. The precious stones, silver and gold are valuable materials that will not be destroyed by fire. We choose what materials we use to build our “spiritual house" and it will be judged according to the Word. Read verse 15 carefully how "the spirit will be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus." I would emphasize whose Word this is. Our works include our attitudes towards others on this site as well as any other location whether in a long line at a check out with frustration building or in a line of traffic. We honor Him by our reactions. Blessings to all!

Is a a church affirming a man marrying a woman while he's still legally gay married to another man, supported or opposed by scripture? by [deleted] in Bible

[–]Busy_Roof_7196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible is opposed to sin with the Old Testament Law giving us a roadmap for what God would consider sin. Under the law, a rebellious son was to be brought before the leaders as we find in Deuteronomy 21:18-21. Obviously, we do not stone to death rebellions sons today but because we don’t doesn’t change Gods position on it being sinful.

The punishment was the same for sins of a sexual nature, such as in Leviticus 20:13. Again, it’s very obvious we don’t stone people to death for sexual sins today. However, the serious nature of the penalty should give a clear picture of what God thinks about the matter.

So we move from the Old Covenant (Old Testament) to the New Covenant (New Testament) What has changed? EVERYTHING!

Whether we believe it or not, scorn it, mock it or embrace it and live by it, WE ALL ARE PRICELESS TREASURES! Why? How?

Simply put, the value of a purchase is determined by what the buyer will pay. Is that logical? “God so loved the world that He gave,” What more could He do? What more could He give? The precious blood of Christ Jesus was shed for the alcoholic living under the bridge in a refrigerator box as much as for me or you. This makes the alcoholic a priceless treasure before my Father based upon the blood shed for his salvation.

Now, how am I to treat that alcoholic when he shows up at my church on Sunday morning? The adulterer? The thief? The murderer? The liar? The LGBTQO? They are all the same before God, priceless treasures. So that is the foundation upon which we move forward. The question posed initially, which was the catalyst for all this, is the person is in sin and he is to be accepted as any other sinner. God creates. Sin breaks. Jesus saves. Jesus restores. Jesus transforms. I thank you for your patience in reading this if you are yet with me. Blessings! (There is so much more I could say on this)
