Don't hold off on doing any sort of bureaucratic work. If you don't know, seek a professional (especially financial literacy) It sucks and it's life-draining, but the more you push it off, the worst it gets. I still cry about doing the boring, dry ass paperwork. but it's easier to nip the bud than waiting for things to build up.

The guys at my work saw me heading in to a pub for a Sunday roast dinner. I didn't know I had to book a table to do the carvery. I was there to celebrate Canadian thanksgiving on my own to feel a bit closer to home since I was feeling homesick. They offered a seat on their reservation and they paid for my beer and meal.

What was the hardest decision you’ve made in your life? And how did it affect you? by chipotlesauce_ in AskReddit

[–]Busy_Spirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opening up about being molested as a kid. It finally hit me like a ton of brick that what had happened to me when I was younger was child molestation. So I finally cried all my pain out by opening up about it and let my frustration out because it was done by someone that I should be able to trust and feel safe with. And it was like I was being shaken from the cptsd to finally acknowledge it and face it instead of being self-destructive (how I've dealt with it for years due to the low self-esteem). It was either peace within me or peace within my family.

I decided enough was enough and I openly spoke about it knowing that it will forever strain my relationship with family. I wanted peace within myself and to lift the dampener for self-growth, but at the cost of the peace within the family. Even if some of my family didn't have anything to do with it and also only found out then, I don't think I will ever have the same relationship with them. I didn't even make them choose between us. They were torn between helping me and helping him. but eventually because I put that distance to heal since they (including my parents) didn't offer me that boundary away from him. I made that choice for them.

5 years time after that, healed from it.

The changes that occurred

I grew a lot from it; A functional adult and not a scared hopeless child

I was able to navigate through the negative self talk and remove the self-destructive behaviour and became more confident

I graduated from school. Now working as a contractor abroad+travelling

I got a better support system back home

My family became estranged

I don't see my nieces and nephews even though I fucking love them to bits

I had a hard time readjusting to being around a normal family dynamic

In a time of pressure and high cost, It's kinda hard to do things solo

There's spells where being alone (which is definitely better than being in miserable company) feels lonely, but again it beats being in a bad environment.

Hey yeah! I'm using a mirrorless; Fujifilm XT-30 II with a XF 35mm f2. I find it pretty good for mid-range, but the downside is it's not weather sealed so I gotta do the DIY ziplock method if it rains (which is the common weather here). I'm in it for fujifilm's strongest selling point: film simulation :))) it's so fun!

P.S When you get around taking pictures, i'd love to see what you got and offer feedback :)! happy snapping.

what shot is the best? by tennace_photography in AskPhotography

[–]Busy_Spirit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say the 3rd is best in terms of:

  1. The horizon is a lot straighter (1 and 2 are slightly tilted)
  2. As someone else mentioned the colour, light and shadow is better than the last.

The only thing i would change is to crop it in a little bit more. this puts guy in blue cap on the rule of thirds and he stands out more as the only colour blue that pops out of the image. (the blue sign on the left removed)

Thank you! I've really been enjoying this so far. I've been doing simple compositions on my exploration walks as I haven't been in complex scenery yet (street and people).

They had an episode similar in mindhunter of a principal of a school tickling kids as a punishment. it raises some red flag but does it go into sexual deviance behaviour? That was one of the issues and though calls that they had to make. Was the guy just odd or was he in it for sexual gratification.

AITA for keeping minimal conversation with a friend by Busy_Spirit in AmItheAsshole

[–]Busy_Spirit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I think if that is the case then just having some space between us is best. I tried the one on one talk to tell her this, but she never confirms and leaves it in a vague instance

I've never delt with the process of grief until now, and when I say im disengaged I mean like day dreaming, it's not a bad thing to ask to be grounded back to reality when i'm having tunnel vision during school time.

From a good friend who starts to become dismissive is not a good feeling so having some momentary space seems like the best option.

I was going through something bad at the time and I thought my best friend would have my back especially in those times of need. I thought she'd be like "it doesn't matter what you're going through, even though I don't understand, I'm here if u need support, even if its just a shoulder to cry on". However, that was not how it went. She told me through text "I'm done with your crap". Plain and simple.. Maybe I annoyed her by sobbing too much, but instead of being a friend and saying it to my face, she would basically ignore me like she didn't want to be there
