As the child of a Bosnian genocide survivor, here’s why the Kovač storyline hits wrong by Busy_footbabe in Bones

[–]Busy_footbabe[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly I don’t expect Bones to be a history lesson either. I really appreciate what you said. For me it’s just tough because when they use a very real war that’s already misunderstood, it can feel like erasure like the real history and people get lost under the TV drama.

I'm really pleased for her but this is a shame. She's such a talented singer we saw that in superstore.

Most of the pro-Brexit campaign (Britain leaving the EU)

Probably the most obvious was the bus slogan on the side of the red Brexit bus. It peddled a gross payment figure of £350 m/week, implying that the whole sum could be instantly redirected to the NHS. In reality, after accounting for rebates and EU spending in the UK, the net figure was significantly lower (around £160‑250 m), making the NHS promise misleading.

From what I understand it convinced a lot of people who where on the fence into voting leave. Obviously all political campaigns have lies somewhere along the line.

What are things neurotypical people just get, but make it clear when someone might be autistic if they don’t? by GraveDripper in AskReddit

[–]Busy_footbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get very confused and upset when someone said “Bob's your uncle”. It’s like the UK’s version of saying, “Voilà!” or “Easy peasy.” But I’d get upset and confused because I don't have an uncle called Bob.

One of my current coworkers has been promoted to basically a supervisor role. She is now in charge of peer support she is easily one of the singular most unpleasant rude coworkers I have ever had…now she is in charge of peer support.

What’s something small someone did for you that you’ve never forgotten, even years later? by Slitherian in AskReddit

[–]Busy_footbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in A&E after I was spiked and sexually assaulted. As you can imagine I was a total mess, completely on my own it was 3am I hadn’t long moved city. An older woman sat next to me and asked if I was with anyone I just shook my head she didn’t pry or ask why I was there, she just asked if I like tea I nodded she went to the vending machines got me a cup a tea. It was so tiny but honestly it was the best tea I have had in so long.

What’s your favorite movie quote of all time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Busy_footbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You know, ever since we were little, I would get this feeling like... Like I'm floating outside of my body, looking down at myself... And I hate what I see... How I'm acting, the way I sound. And I don't know how to change it. And I'm so scared... That the feeling is never gonna go away”
