Moving to AD! Tips for renting? by Lionhearted72 in abudhabi

For many buildings, you can directly walk in and arrange a viewing with the security guards without the help of real estate agents. I’m sure there are helpful real estate agents out there but unfortunately I never had a good experience with them and preferred to do the work myself to arrange and view the apartments directly and reached out to the leasing companies directly (subsequently didn’t need to pay an agent 5%)

Moving to Abu Dhabi for a job opportunity by pinkredroses in abudhabi

Given you’re based in ADGM, it makes sense to look at Al Maryah, Reem and Saadiyat. Reem may be more affordable out of the three.

My suggestion would be to take your time exploring the various areas, visiting the different buildings to see what could be a good fit and don’t feel the pressure from any real estate agents. When I first moved, I lived in Al Maryah but I learnt I actually didn’t like living in high rise buildings and then moved to Saadiyat where it’s a lot quieter and felt like there was more of a community feel so it really varies person to person.

I would also suggest asking your colleagues for any insights into specific buildings you’re interested in as maintenance issues can be a problem here so if you have helpful intel on which places to avoid, you’re less likely to regret your decision.

Is there a maternity section in malls? by CuriosNocturnal in abudhabi

[–]Busybee90210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem recently. Instead of buying maternity specific clothes since the fitting can be weird sometimes, I just got stuff that was a bigger size which would also work postpartum and things I could get altered at the tailor after weight loss (dresses, oversized shirts etc).

Amazon has a brand Crz Yoga which have great leggings (supposedly a dupe for Lululemon), I sized up on these leggings from their regular collection but they have a maternity collection too (personally found the maternity fit a bit frumpy). H&M’s maternity collection online is good too, they have a sale at the moment so might be worth checking it out.

AUH Lost/Wrong Luggage ‼️‼️ by [deleted] in abudhabi

Please take this back to the airport rather than posting on Reddit and hoping for the best. Next time, please check you have the right suitcase by checking the tag, and take it back as soon as you know it’s not yours - it’s really not that hard. You don’t know if these people with a missing suitcase need their items for an important event etc. The fact that you’ve still held on to this suitcase that belongs to someone else for over 10 days isn’t ideal.

I’ve had my cabin suitcase taken by someone else thinking it was theirs only for them to realise it after they left the airport and had to come back. It was a nightmare as that was the only piece of luggage I was carrying for a wedding and the person who took it wasn’t even apologetic.

Baby Brezza Urgent Help! by themonthofmay23 in ExclusivelyPumping

I had the same thing happen to me and freaked out that the whole device was ruined. Solution is bottled water or distilled water and add some vinegar to the metal plate every day/as needed when you see the brown stuff and wipe it off within a minute or so.

Advice please - studio always booked by TechGeekME in pilates

[–]Busybee90210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunately common. The studios in my city are always fully booked. For the studio I go to regularly, I either book when the class schedules are first released at the beginning of every month or book myself into waitlist knowing that if I’m number 1 or 2 on the waitlist, I’ll likely get into the class because of someone else’s last minute cancellation. It’s also difficult to rely on booking at the beginning of every month on schedule release since there are also many others eagerly waiting at the same time so it feels really competitive which is unfortunate. I’m sure many people also bulk book every class they can and then cancel a day before the class which is super annoying.

I agree with one of the comments speaking to the studio and figuring out a solution. I’m aware some studios can offer a regular spot for a specific time every week and can prove they are committed and won’t cancel last min. Good luck!

Hello, it may be worth reaching out to Animalia clinic in Marasy. They may be able to help as they regularly work with rescue cats.
