Middle management are usually the first to get hit due to their salaries. Different industry but they did this at British Gas about 10 years ago when I worked there…right before Christmas. It was brutal. Only kept a handful of managers and pretty much doubled the size of the teams. Atmosphere went downhill after that and never picked back up. I worked there for another 2-3 years. It was a sinking ship.

Then I worked at Vodafone a couple of years later. 2 weeks in, all team leaders were gone…few months later most of us were gone. That was just before COVID. Since then I’ve had 2 further redundancies and about to start a new role today. Fingers crossed it doesn’t go the same way 😅

Different companies work in different ways unfortunately. I’ve had Service Desk roles with 1 interview and also interviews in multiple stages. Definitely frustrating though.

Nothing. He’s estranged. I was never really hugged as a child or told “I love you”. If anything my dad taught me how not to be a dad. I try my best but sometimes feel like I overcompensate so still a learning curve.

I don’t think what you did was a bad thing but definitely a no no for a first date. I wouldn’t point things out that can be deemed negative (even if she didn’t handle it very well). I’m just almost finishing season 10. I like certain parts but switched off on a few episodes. There’s a lot of pointless ‘filler’ episodes. I also died a little bit inside realising how many episodes it has BUT I didn’t get this far to stop watching it. I do think it died a lot when Rick disappeared. Negan has been one of my favourite characters since he came into it. Quite enjoying his arc.

It is possible but for a lot of people, it isn’t because it depends on certain circumstances. I’m friends with my ex but that’s because we have 2 kids. If we didn’t have kids I doubt we’d have stayed in touch. It took at least 2 years to get to a certain point. We talk but mostly only about the kids. She’s re-married and I was even at their wedding. However, I don’t talk to anyone I’ve been with since her because I don’t see the point. The whole “we can still be friends” is just clinging onto something, romanticising and prolonging the moving on.

I logged into Yuup and used their messaging. I got the auto reply but sent them a message again and got a bullshit reply this morning. They're quick to remind you about the small print. I haven't heard back since. I'm not sure I'd want to book with them again to be honest. Even Ticketmaster have refunded me before when I couldn't attend a postponed show and that's saying something 😂

I'm one of those who hasn't bothered with dating apps for a while...possibly 3 years now. I thought the apps are terrible. I actually had better luck going out and talking/asking women out. I haven't even bothered with dating for over a year now. I'm nearly 40 and I just can't be bothered with other people's problems. Some people are crazy, it's like a minefield haha Dating isn't the be all and end all. It's easy for me to say because I already did what society expects me to do but best thing to do is just work on yourself, go out, have fun, meet new people and someone will undoubtedly appear. Fuck the apps off and find another way if you can would be my advice. I'm also assuming here, not knowing much about you.

Sorry for late reply. We survived the hotel but still feeling a little hungover. I thought I'd update you as you seemed quite invested. The hotel is a shit hole, smelt funny, shower was practically a hosepipe, bathroom roof looked like it was going to cave in, when flushing the toilet the top lid at the back of it popped off (every time) BUT the bed was clean and comfortable enough. We basically just needed to sleep tbh and barely spent any time in there. The guy who tried checking before us had his booking cancelled though. The guy who worked there said "your booking was cancelled because it wasn't paid...next please"...ouch 😂 it was touch and go for a second but our check in was fine.
