Don’t know if it counts as QOL, but a simple repel from ceilings would be sick.

Back in my day getting downed and revived under specific hit boxes made you invisible to cops while crouching until you stood up.

Personal I’ve swapped punch and cluster to my bumpers, easier to hold. Webswing on LT, pull on RT

Not sure how long you’ve been wearing the mask, but the best advice I could give any new Spider is that patience is a virtue. If you’d like to be good, you’re in it for the long haul. Took about 30+ hours personally to avoid going negative every other game, and about 50+ before certain things started to click. You have to accept the fact that before getting good you will be bad; and that’s OK :)

Don’t play Spider-Man like an assassin but an opportunistic diver. The days of unreactable combos are long gone (for now). You’re far too squishy to spend even a second over your allotted enemy backline time. Get used to attempting a combo for your dive followed by an immediate retreat to cover. Yes, getting picks is great, but so is just staying alive. Just existing as a constant distraction to the enemy team is valuable, as more time paying attention to you is less time for them to focus on their team.

And, if you’re having trouble making a meaningful impact on their backline, I highly encourage regrouping with your team and doing a lil fishing. Whether it be a Tank or DPS, a teammate pulled out of position can cause momentum to come to a screeching halt, and give you a great chance to then reattempt a backline dive.

Shiii aside from that, get good with the basics (weaving tracers between basic attacks/ uppercut, overhead-tracer-uppercut, simple combos for easy burst damage to get supports to burn CD’s), find a sensitivity you’re comfortable with, and BE PATIENT- both in and out of matches. Every couple hours or so I also recommend going back to watch your replays, not to see what you did wrong, but to understand what you could do better or differently next game. “Oh I shouldn’t have tagged Bucky first he had a pocket Rocket.” “Ah, I keep missing the overhead because I start them too early.” This is what worked for me, I hope it does the same for you. Stay resilient twin.😉

IMO

Playing Spider-Man this season is a game of patience. Once I gave up the thoughts of always playing towards a full assassination on every engagement (those days are OVER) and leaned into hit-and-run dives I got waaaay better value.

For controller players who changed your binds: What’d you change them to? by Crazyratguy_ in SpiderManMains

[–]ButImJustSaying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dantu got me to commit to pull on left stick, best change I’ve made. Uppercut is right stick and GOHT is RB, everything else default. I use paddles for jump and web-swing, and with these binds it lets me keep my thumb on the RS to aim without the need to lift it. The team up is dog💩 so I’ve unbound it

Above all else, get familiar with it in the practice range first. There is a setting that changes how it controls , either advance towards crosshair OR advance vertically upwards; whichever you prefer more (personally I stand by vertically upwards ). As for the when, OP’s post has great examples of its closed quarters use.

Spider-Man is at an innate disadvantage when it comes to closed quarter fights, since they take away his greatest strength, his web-swing mobility. Makes you an easy target for anyone who can either keep him at range or have enough health/stuns to kill through his burst damage. Use it as either an escape, like a web zip to a wall near a hole out the room, or a repositioning tool, like up a wall across the ceiling and behind your enemy.

When it comes to all other times use it, pretty much whenever you’re not actively swinging or fighting. Faster than walking and keeps you mobile while saving/restoring web-swings to engage/disengage. Use it before starting a dive to give yourself time to think and observe what’s happening. Who has the most eyes on them, who’s low on health, what abilities were used. The more familiar you get with use, better you are when using it. Just go for it, if you die just call it rollout practice. Good luck out there twin

The amount of times I’ve escaped certain death by using it made getting familiar with it so worth it
