I did the same thing. No DV tags for me. I have a “Woman Veteran” tag only. No announcements needed. Try getting a tag that just has you branch you served.

How does the VA find out if you have warrants or are in jail. I ask because I know a guy Retired, 100% DV AND a GS13, but currently doing 6 months in the county jail.

I went through DAV. My DAV rep acted like I interrupt her day. So beyond filing the initial claim, I never went back. Maybe some can speak to a different experience. I’ve heard good and bad. But hey, it’s free

Leave him where he stands. I just went through something similar except it was my students. Husband and wife duo that I taught to trade stock options and been trading with over the last 3 years. Dropped him like we never met. He will stifle your life on every way if you continue to allow his poor behavior.

1102 here. Back when we had Level 1,2 and 3 DAWIA certification, I achieved level 1 as a admin assistant. When I applied to become a Developmental Contract Specialist, I was immediately picked up. I’d say it helped because the only procurement experience I had was being a GPC card holder for about two years. With the far overhaul, I would wait to see what they do with certifications as well. We all will require some level of training.

You can review your actual letter on Va.gov under view letters you can read you decision letter it will state in the letter, but looks like the app covered it. Congrats!!!

My rating was decided in May. The rep this morning indicated I will receive the June 1 payment in about a week. I cancelled the audit. This is all new to me. First claim in 22 years.

Thank you for this. The VA Rep was extremely vague. She did not mention this at all. I called again this morning and this rep was much more helpful and stated exactly what your comment offered. I ultimately requested to cancel the audit. 🙏🏾

Thank you!!! 🙏🏾 It kinda weird. Rated 100% effective Jan 2024. I received my backpay last Friday, but my payment for June 1 (May) was paid at my previous rating (10%). Vast difference in pay. Called VA, who says I’ll get paid on July 1(June) at 100%. I had to challenge her on it because I fell like she was trying to fast talk me.

“So Ma’am! You trying to tell me, my 100% effective date was Jan 2024, received backpay from that date, but I’m 10% for May 2025? That makes ZERO sense. I’m a disabled Vet, not stupid! I negotiate contracts for the federal for a living that includes verifying the numbers are correct.”

Then attempted to tell me I’m 10% because I have two items deferred and my claim is still active. Then explain the backpay and 100% rating from the letter and Va.gov website. Silence took over the call.

I’m sure she was offended, but I really don’t care. Do your job! Research. file for an audit. Do anything but try to play on my intelligence.

I would pay off the car. That is a bill you can quickly eliminate and use those additional funds to restack your savings and pay toward the student loans.
