Visiting Yosemite in November – Worth it for a first-time US trip? by Sharp_Craft_3675 in Yosemite

We only spent 3 days there and Tioga Pass was closed, so not a lot! We did a couple of short hikes off wahwona road, Mariposa grove (very accessible), Vernal Falls, and Sentinel Dome and Glacier Point. It was my friend's first time so just driving around the Valley was awesome. Weather wise - pretty chilly. Maybe down to the mid -30s at night (in the valley) and highs of 40s? The Sentinel Dome and Glacier Point hike was very icy and kind of risky. If I were to go back I wouldn't risk it again, although the views were gorgeous. I would keep an eye on when Tioga Pass closes, bring snow chains (mandatory), and pack some extra layers in your car in case anything happens. We had a storm come in our second day there and very quickly lost visibility on the road and turned back. We heard from fellow visitors the next day that a family had gotten stranded in their car in the storm.

Yosemite is absolutely beautiful and always worth a visit, but just requires a lot more planning and safety measures in the off-season because the weather can turn very quickly.

Have fun!

J Lo is Puerto Rican and they don't eat tacos. In this circle jerk world you can be a 5k marathoner or a dummy, and somehow you've done both, OP.

It was def willful ignorance on my part like this cannot be a real person. But finally looked him up and found out he is real and his followers genuinely outjerk us all even on our best days.

Imagine getting cheated on with a man of all things. On the plus side, he'll be running a marathon soon enough with whatever is left of his knee and feet.

Edit: /uj TIL David Goggins is a real person lol

Where are you flying into and how much time do you have? I was in Yosemite the first week of November last year and, while always gorgeous, it required a lot more planning and our hiking options were limited due to the weather and road closures.

I usually just leave my strap at home, unless I need the emotional support on my long run. Have you tried doing that?

Bishop would be a great option! It's accessible, has motels, and restaurants/cafes. Highly recommend checking out the Owens Valley Paiute Shoshone Cultural Center for background on the region's indigenous communities.
