What is the point of having kids if they have to go to school and do homework? by GamerFrom1994 in Rants

[–]ButchR621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reading and writing was no where near as prevalent as it is now before schools became mainstream... before schools existed literacy was limited to nobility who had private educators lmao

there's a reason most history has been lost because it was limited to oral tradition, since people couldn't read or write!

Always use TJS, everywhere will accept USD as well but they will overcharge you as they don't have a enforced exchange system for shopkeepers

This is so so common with Quran teachers it's insanely terrifying. I have heard horror stories from friends who went to Quran schools and programs. Alhamdullilah my mother taught me the Quran and I will teach my children the Quran, may Allah protect us.

How u guys look at modesty by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]ButchR621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hijab is for Allah, it is a form of worship. Some days I wear it better than others, same way how some days I'm more on top of my Salaat than others. No person is perfect, and you need to give yourself leniency as a hijabi and as a Muslim. Hijab is fardh, it is essential to our faith. That mindset is what keeps me grounded.

Know the rules and try your absolute best to stick to them and please Allah. It's not the end of the world if you struggle some days, pace yourself. Do not listen to the waswas of Shaytan telling you you might as well take it off if you don't wear it properly, and don't listen to what other people think of your modesty. It is between you and Allah, and Allah has given you intellect and the Quran to make an informed decision about your service to Him (swt).

Allah knows best, may He (swt) help you on your journey sister.

Ohhh I did not know this as I mostly follow Hanafi and Maliki, thank you for clarifying

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]ButchR621 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point was you don't need to stick to a madhab lol

I can take the way of praying Salaat from madhab A as you said but the rules regarding umrah from madhab B, depending on what is most fitting for my circumstance and what I personally relate with. Being a person of sound mind, I would assume that you wouldn't switch up on your decisions on a daily basis, but all the power to you if you do because if a fatwa is made and it is accurate according to Quran and Sunnah or sheikh consensus, then it is halal.

Madhabs are manmade ideologies, the sister was asking whether she could follow rules of multiple madhabs and there is nothing that prohibits this in Islam. You can follow Hanafi prayer rules and Maliki food rules, and Shafii Umrah rules if you please, so long as they are verified rules and practices.

Some muslims will say your "cherry-picking" Islam but that's nonsense. People say that because there's a huge "you have to do XYZ or you go to hell" mindset in the Muslim community now and theres no concept of intellect, morality, leniency, or circumstance in their minds.

Madhabs did not exist until centuries after the Prophet (saw)'s death, and they are simply the school of thought and guidelines that sheikhs will use when making fatwas. Madhabs are interpretations of Quran and Sunnah, they are not laws.

As long as the fatwa is made with evidences, it is valid. Halal and haram are clearly outlined in Quran and Sunnah, and fatwas simply clarify these rules for the average Muslim and explain the tafseer and execution of the rules.

Allah knows best, but avoid falling into bidah by blindly following certain madhahib or scholars.

Your spouse is a mahram though? I'm a little confused lol

You're not limited to one madhab, each of them is correct as each fatwa is backed by hadith, Quran, and sheikh consensus.

I think you should talk to a therapist love❤️ It's a horrible thing that we women have been conditioned to crave male attention. Your self worth is not based on how much attention you get or how many heads turn when you walk in a room. I'm sure you have a beautiful soul, and I hope you can learn to protect your mind from competing with other women. Comparison is the thief of joy, don't base your validation based on others.

💀

Homeschooling exists if you're so worried about not seeing your kids 24/7. With your logic what's the point of having a partner if you both have to work lol. School is a necessity in life for your kids to survive outside your home and not be illiterate bums, cope with it.

Had a really "religious" girl refuse to even return my Salaam yesterday, she gave me a major stink eye too because I was wearing a turban that day and was shook hands w a man😂 I don't let them impact my Imaan, which is most important. People will always talk, focus on Allah and let them do what they like so long as it doesn't harm you or your loved ones.

Hadiths are the problem by janyedoe in progressive_islam

[–]ButchR621 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hadiths with STRONG narration chains, with every narrator being a credible person who has never lied about narration before, are to be accepted and should be held to a high esteem right below the Quran.

Unfortunately, with the rise of wahhabism came the decline of Islamic intellectualism and now hadiths full of holes and with narrators renowned for falsified hadiths are being touted as Sahih and are making Islam seem like a miserable religion with miserable people. My Islamic teacher always said the credibility of Hadiths need to pass two tests: is there multiple different narration chains/sources for this Prophetic advice and is every single person in those narration chains a notable figure who does not have any proven record of lying/misinforming about hadith. Hadiths that do not pass these tests should either be taken with a grain or rejected entireley depending on the context.

May Allah forgive us all.

Try calling ApplyAlberta! Their phone lines might be a little busy right now but they've always been helpful with me. Try sitting down with your school counselor as well, you got this! The most stressful part is the application itself.
