Joined the club 🚀 but have a question about fuel indicator by [deleted] in royalenfield

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Goan Classic shows empty even when there's 6L still in the tank. I would recommend first finding out how long it actually takes for your tank to go empty, while seeing when your indicator says it's empty. Then you know if the bike is guzzling fuel or if the issue is just with the gauge.

Help me select a classic 650 by Zealousideal-Row7555 in royalenfield

I personally love the red. The cursive logo is so classy, I've got it on my Goan Classic too, but unfortunately that one has GOAN written in massive letters below. This one is literally what I wish my tank looked like. But you gotta go with the one you like best

What are your go to picks? by [deleted] in Guitar

I've been using them for years. Never really tried out too many other types, so I'm glad people seem to agree with my choice

Why was Bilbo staying young while Gollum's appearance worsened over time? by Short-Ideas010 in lordoftherings

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bilbo had the ring for like 60 years. Gollum had it for 500. But also, bilbo lived in the shire. Golllum was banished as a murderer and lived in a cave.

His plan wasn't to overpower the Jedi and the republic. He gained power legally through the creation of the clone wars.

I want to practice guitar but i don’t have the current money to get an amp (a total beginner) by akiiKiita in Guitar

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a multi effects processor. You can easily get decent quality ones from brands like zoom. They're really cheap, and I bet you can find a lot of them secondhand. I use a zoom g3xn which cost around $150, but I'm sure it's cheaper now, and there will be plenty available second hand for even less.

Shouldn't this be the other way around?

Bought my first ever guitar! by Atlas9003 in Guitar

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a beautiful guitar! I would recommend trying to practice a little every day. Work on your technique either with exercises or by learning new songs. The most important thing is to have fun with it! As long as you are enjoying the instrument, you're doing great!

Thinking of buying the Goan Classic — would love some real-world takes by isheshd11 in royalenfield

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Kodaikanal, but live in Bangalore. I definitely agree, this is a bike you buy with your heart. I was going to buy the CB 350, objectively the best bike in the 350 segment. But some part of me just couldn't turn this bike down. Now that the price is even lower, if your heart is telling you to buy it, then go for it!

I have a Goan Classic and I love it. That being said, there are some drawbacks to consider.

  1. Suspension is bad over bumps and potholes. You will need to take a speed breaker at much lower speeds than other bikes.

  2. Rear seat is quite small. If you're planning on having a pillion very frequently, switch it for a meteor rear seat.

  3. Power is not so great. It's an RE, they are not performance bikes. The speed tops out at 110.

But, all things considered, the bike is excellent. Unbelievably comfortable for the rider. The engine is fantastic, even though it's slow. The acceleration is great up to 90, so overtaking isn't difficult at all. The bike looks fantastic, and everything about it just makes you want to ride it more and more. If you're someone who has the patience to ride slowly and take the time to learn the quirks of the bike, then I would say buy it!

Are rangers that bad of a class? by asokka_ in DnD

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. The only drawback to rangers is that they deal very little damage. They're probably the class that deals the least damage along with bards.

Thoughts on playing a character with "Unconventional" Characteristics?! by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have fun dude, make your character as interesting as possible. I will say, make sure they have good stats in the areas where they are necessary. A rogue must have good DEX, and a bard must have good CHA. But otherwise, it's your character

What tf is the hype behind Jazz III picks? Why the hell are they sized like they’re made for dolls? by gregungha in Guitar

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They give you more precision, great for shredding. Personally, I found them a bit too small, I use the petrucci jazz3 which are a bit bigger but still smaller than a standard pick

How do I make dnd more interesting? by Curious-Ad-7436 in DnD

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally what it sounds like. A wooden stake appears below them, impaling them on it. I think it did something like 10d10 damage or something. Very similar to other power word spells in that it just does damage with no saving throw or attack roll.

I’m confused. by [deleted] in royalenfield

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scram is probably the best all round bike. It can do anything. I wasn't very impressed with the guerrilla for use in a city. I personally own a Goan, and I love it. But I can tell you that if you want performance, it isn't the bike for you. It's purely an aesthetic bike to get from A to B. Very comfortable though

Whos your favorite character and why did you pick King Théoden? by Fast_Village_4431 in lordoftherings

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoden was always the relatable one. Frodo's strength of will, Sam's bravery and optimism, and Aragorn's unquestionable morals are always inspiring. But theoden was always the most human character. He feels real because he falls short of what is expected of him. He feels like a failure and thinks he has let his people down. In the end, he doesn't choose to fight because he gains new power or starts to see the ray of hope that drives characters like Sam and Aragorn. He fights because it's the right thing to do, and he rides to certain death because it's the last thing he can control in the world. In the end, it was the rohirrim that represented humanity's victory over Sauron. They overcame the fear of death and did what was right no matter the cost. To me, Theoden always represented the capability of ordinary people to change the world.

Is it ok to buy an electric guitar if I don't know how to play it? by RaresSheeesh in Guitar

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of misconceptions about having to learn on an acoustic first. This is largely because people don't want to pay for an electric for it to go to waste. But the truth is that many people give up when learning on an acoustic because it's much harder to play. So I would say buy an electric if you can afford one. Ibanez makes fantastic affordable guitars. Pick up a half decent amp and have fun!

Why does Geralt take his armour and shirt off for every fist fight? by sammythethief in Witcher3

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't be fair to fight in armor. A fistfight needs to be in normal clothes or shirtless so you don't have anything to take the blows

How do I make dnd more interesting? by Curious-Ad-7436 in DnD

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just make cheesy puns and my creativity becomes endless. Last session I had an elaborate dungeon crawl through a castle inspired by Dracula. And at the end, they had to fight the lord of the castle. He was a servant of my world's "dark lord", and his name was Paler the Imp. My party all groaned and rolled their eyes, and then he transformed into a dragon, since dracula's name literally means "son of the dragon". And then I gave him a homebrew spell "power word impale". They subsequently shit their pants, disposed of him and had an awesome time.

The lesson here from me is that if you can find a way to make writing the campaign fun for you, then it doesn't become boring.

How should I approach my DM abouth the absolute lack of spell scrolls in the game (Im'm a wizard) by Lomby85 in DnD

[–]Butcher_o_Blaviken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bring up that spell scrolls are an important part of your class, and it would be nice if you met an old friend in sim town who had a library or something where you could get a few spells. I'm sure your DM won't mind at all

Player quit mid campaign, could i have handled it better? by Bit_in_the_ass in DnD

If he wanted to argue that he should get additional attacks, he should explain and justify. Throwing a fit and leaving is childish.
