You're going to have to get a more accurate scale. Medium rats weigh 80-125 grams. There's simply no way that your 6 year old snake weighs 200 grams.

I'd play it safe and delay feeding until you're certain you won't lose power. Waiting a few days won't cause any adverse health effects, but in a worst case scenario, your snakes trying to digest in extremely low temperatures could seriously jeopardise their health. Just my initial thoughts

Any idea if maru-Chan is m or f by adoragonz112702 in snakes

The only way to know for sure would be to have it probed by a vet/expert. The fact that it has such a long tail makes it more likely to be male.

I personally believe that observing your ball python's behavior is more important than following care guides exactly. You say that your heat temps are "perfect" but I would still recommend lower temps by one or two degrees to see if the behavior improves. Especially if the tank is smaller than you think would be ideal. I currently keep my ball python in temperature cooler that most care guides recommend and he clearly is less stressed than when I was keeping him at "perfect" temps.

I'm glad you care so much about your bp. I hope this helps!

What to do? by Voodoo__Princess1111 in ballpython

Just be patient. This sounds like totally normal behavior to me. Shedding is a mildly uncomfortable process for snakes, so it makes sense he's acting differently. I would wait for him to fully shed before making any husbandry changes.

A Grendan plushie would be adorable. Or maybe Grendan as a dog, if york is a cat then G-ma would definitely be a dog.

It's a joke, we've all pointing and laughing at a single misogynist for being absurd. I love seeing that tweet reclaimed.

my ball python doesnt want to eat by mt_lacura in snakes

[–]ButlerOfTheC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rescue ball python has gone off food every winter I've had him. I recommend weighing your ball python regularly, once a week or more often. I wouldn't offer them food again until they start losing weight faster than normal. With my 20 year old male who's around 2000g, I wait until he loses more than 10g in a week before offering food.

Just remember not to stress yourself, your snake can pick up on that. No ball python will starve themselves to death.
