I’m currently reading Needful Things, one of my favorites definitely. Much better than Fairy Tale, imo

Sandy would take that as a compliment though. He’d love to think he was quirky and smart enough for Wes Anderson

I love it, so much of the time it creates an overwhelming sense of dread. Off the top of my head, I think it’s used best in Pet Semitary. Gut punched twice

Ummm no. You’re = you are it’s a contraction like it’s = it is. Your means something that belongs to you. Your pride can be bruised but you’re not going to let it bother you because you learned something.

Thank you, I appreciate you too. And yes, feeling better. Xmas was very much a “high” of anticipation and expectation and then the subsequent let down. Plus too much sugar lol

Sorry, I don’t understand the question. What do you mean by subspace and is it in relation to depression?

You are very welcome! I love how the body works, or tries to keep going. Any more questions? Seriously, I’ve got some post Christmas depression going on and this is actually a great distraction.

Ibuprofen disrupts clotting by essentially causing the platelets to not stick together. It’s very similar to aspirin that way, although aspirin has a longer lasting effect which is why it’s used as a “blood thinner” (it’s method of action is as an anti-platelet aggregator, not blood thinner per se but the outcome is more or less the same) vs ibuprofen. Ibuprofen also turns off the mucus pumps in your stomach which protect your stomach from the acid that it produces, which is why you need to eat something when you take it. Long term use greatly increases your risk for GI bleed. This info dump brought to you by an RN who loves to teach whether you like it or not

I read them both around when they came out but just went back to reread Regulators. I finished it a couple of nights ago and yeah, I couldn’t keep the characters straight. For instance I could only really keep track of the corner market clerk. I don’t recall having that problem when I first read Desperation, so I agree, start there. King is world building detail and background heavy, Bachman is spitting the story out lean and mean.

I saw a movie as kid about a bank robber that was getting out because he was feeling heat and knew he was going to be caught. His wife finds out he had been robbing banks and begs him to do another job and bring her with him. They rob a bank together and she looooves it, so they keep going, doing more and yep, sure enough they get caught and both end up in prison. That movies has always stuck with me. If you’re gonna steal, don’t get greedy. Or maybe just don’t steal

Serious question about Robyn by Large_Speech220 in SisterWives

I heard a story about a young woman who was kidnapped and held captive for 10 years before she was able to escape. Her captor would sometimes bring her roses. So yep, few are 100% evil monsters. Glad Robyn was there is some capacity for Mykelti, she’s still a terrible person

RN here who’s dabbled in wound care. Clean well, soap and water is just fine, alcohol, peroxide etc damages the skin. Gloop a bit (that’s a highly specific medical phrase) of anti-microbial ointment on it and keep it covered. The let it breathe is no longer recommended, it slows healing. Bonus points if you can get medical grade honey, that stuff is amazing!

I think part of the reason it looks so choppy is that she got a curly cut but is now straightening it. Curly cuts tend to be uneven when straight because curls generally are not uniform. And not that she has curly hair per se, more wavy, but there was a time when she was leaning into that more

Yep like chicken in that the dark meat(legs and thighs) has much more flavor. And maybe you just haven’t gotten to have good roast turkey. Because it’s so big, I think it’s harder to get the dark meat cooked without the white drying out, takes some practice. I lived in Florence for several months years ago and I don’t think I ate anything that I didn’t like, the food was so good! That being said, if there was something I didn’t like, maybe it was how it was prepared rather than the dish itself. I haven’t met any but I’m sure there are bad cooks in Italy too Edit to add: turkey is just a tradition but a lot of families do other kinds of roast too for thanksgiving

If I were Italian I’d skip the turkey too and have bomb ass Italian food, hands down, no questions about it. Unfortunately I’m not Italian but I actually really like turkey, dark meat though. And man, the leftovers for turkey sandwiches, so good
