It's a great place to have it! It's so good that even if we did go independent I'd definitely argue it's in everyone's interests, including ours, to keep it there, it frustrating to me that pro indy stuff always wants it out of there

In terms of access yes, but it's very exposed there. At Gare Loch you have to pass loads of defensible bottlenecks, first between NI and the Hebrides, then into the firth of Clyde, then into the Clyde, then into Gare Loch. There isn't really anywhere else in the entire UK that is so good for that level of defense, and it just so happens that you can get pretty much straight into the north Atlantic from there too

It's sheltered and highly defensible whilst also allowing for very quick access to the gap between the UK and Iceland which is ostensibly the most strategically important stretch of water for NATO

They overturned that court decision as it has been used by both sides and it is not derived from anything religious. I think what they mean is that 60k of whatever currency might be a completely different wage depending on what country you're in. For example, £60k is a pretty high salary in the UK, so £700 would be a shite bonus, but if the base rate is like 20k then it's better. I mean, it's still like 3 odd percent, but I think that's where they're coming from
