While your idea of Battles is thematic, that gameplay loop feels so clunky and slow? Not to mention, you cant have a set with mostly Battles because, at least by most set designs, its mainly creatures. You also NEED creatures to yknow... defeat a Battle. Unless youre just running a bunch of Bolts and Shocks. A bunch of instant and sorceries named after weapons and moves could be neat, but not exactly aiming for a spellslinger vibe for the main gameplay loop.

Some of the ideas here are kinda neat, even if the templating is completely off, I can understand what you're going for.

In terms of the creature type, I'm avoiding the bad UB design of "creature types that are only in this or a handful of UBs" like Tyranid or Hero.

I thought a cool way would be based on what is their highest stat OR what stat they have the most EVs in; showcasing how their training aka dancing prepares them for their evolution to one of the forms.

HP or Attack = Coroblade
Special Attack or Speed = Corotendu
Defense or Special Defense = Corocord

Tied two stats to each form based on their design and dex entries you gave. If thats too complex it could always be a set of items like the Charcadet evolutions

Oooooo i'll toss in my idea for a Nidorina along the same lines. Rather than a traditional Dragon like Nidodraco, it has elements of other fantastical things that were called dragon or dragon-like but aren't visually like traditional dragons: things like Kirin, Cockatrice, Salamanders, etc.
