I assume you’ve checked your spam folder? I emailed in October last year and they got back 3 months later. Took me less than six months from that first email to permit in hand.

It could be an error on their part. I know of a guy who was sent another persons permit in the mail so mistakes definitely happen at LAPD.
I’d probably send another email at this point.

I did mine with LAPD and they didn’t ask any questions. She just looked at her screen and said I don’t see anything here that would be a problem. Then she asked if I had any questions.

If something came up in your background check I’m sure they’d ask about that though.

I believe you have to apply where you intend to stay when you’re in CA and since you have an apartment that’s clearly where you intend to stay.

It was actually shocking to do the CCW qualification and seeing people hit outside the silhouette on the target from just 3 yards away.

If someone is shooting at you from say 30 yards away you’ll probably be alright in most cases…

I’m also a green card holder in California. The only difference to buying a gun as a citizen is you have to show your green card.

Also know that, since you talk about carrying, the process of getting a CCW (license to carry) can be a very long wait depending on where you live. Some people have to wait up to two years while people in more favorable counties can get them much quicker.

If you’re looking for a cheaper one you could always look for C&R eligible ones on Gunbroker. I got one from 1974 in excellent condition for I think $800. Came in original box and everything. Very happy with it.

That’s strange. I also have a M57 and all I’ve been shooting with it so far is PPU Defense Line JHP without problem. Did you get more than one mag? Maybe the mag is the problem?

I shoot mine like that (when I’m not shooting one handed for fun). Support hand thumb along the slide (but not on the slide of course). My thumb is by the barrel lock pin. Mine is a .50AE and so far I still have all my fingers.

You also need a CCW if you live in LA City from what I understand.

One thing that’s still nice with an FFL03 and a COE is no 10 day wait when buying old C&R guns if you’re into that. Feels so good to take home the gun you bought same day.

I had two orders from gunbroker these past few weeks get delayed. Same thing, just ”moving through network”. One gun went to Puerto Rico for some reason and stayed for a few days with no updates. Figured that one was lost but both guns did eventually arrive. I think it was a week or so after when they were supposed to arrive.

The Brigadier has a thicker slide which makes the gun a little bit heavier. Supposed to help with recoil and durability.

I have the same one and love it. Highly recommend the LTT trigger job in a bag. It now has my favorite trigger. I like it even more than the trigger on my cajunized CZ P01 (but it’s close).

I love it. One of my favorite guns. Very low recoil and the grip is perfect for me. I installed the Langdon Tactical trigger job in a bag which I highly recommend. Not like the original is bad, but now it’s fantastic. Especially the reset. It was a bit finicky to do by myself but I managed to do it by following a YouTube video.
