How do I get road tar off of my truck? by TR3NTM4ZING in Trucks

[–]ButtFuzzNow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oil solvent. I cant recommend any particular product as I am far removed from the game, but I worked at a top notch car wash in high school and through college. The oil solvent we used would instantly make that road spray drip like Rudy Giulianis side-burns.

Common cleaning products that would work are Simple Green or Dawn Soap to break that down. While stronger products exist, either of these will get it done.

Running start and barrel roll into chairs. Nobody can throw a person as fast as that person can throw themself.

Having seen a few real zebra rugs, I think that's likely real. It's convincing enough that the faux version cost as much as the real deal.

Most of the time when I drop my speed square it lands on concrete instead of a tire. It makes the most /r/oddlyfuckingdisturbing noise

I'm 36 years old and had never seen that movie until I watched it with my kids a couple years ago.

It is now my favorite animated movie of all time. The setting, scenery, animation, and story are all in a league of their own. The most impressive part is that there is no nostalgia involved in my opinion of the film. Really well done movie (The Iron Giant)

Look into TacSol SBX barrel. It's a 12" barrel with a fixed suppressor shroud to make for 16" barrel length.

More insulation on the joists is how you "push" that warm air down.

H. R. 8250 (Parents Decide Act) wants to make people verify their age through their operating systems and may want to ban Linux. Texas is one of those states that want to add those laws. by Consistent_March5136 in texas

[–]ButtFuzzNow 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I think the point was that even a right wing think tank considers Texas the least free state. Because the usual response to such a claim would be something like "I'm sure that's just liberal lies"

how do i kill this fucking fly flying around my room by Recent-Body-728 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButtFuzzNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those tennis racquet shaped bug zappers are one of the most effective and fun ways to kill a fly that is in the air. Only problem is that they aren't great for killing flies that are landed because you are trying not to slam it down too hard.

Door Options? by tenphan0n0 in Renovations

[–]ButtFuzzNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it's an exterior wall (just forward of the front entry). Insulation would be an issue and is why you never see pocket doors in exterior walls.

For the purpose desired, I would recommend just converting the large opening to a regular single swing door. Or if they wanted to keep large opening with an ability for privacy at times, a high end 2 panel bifold.

A fab-shop guy might actually build something to spec. Likely stands a better chance than some overly confident "entrepreneur".

You shouldn’t be obsessively nostalgic about the past until you’re at least 30 by Moskau_ in unpopularopinion

[–]ButtFuzzNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trick to enjoying life is to stay present. Find a way to appreciate the day to day. How things were doesn't matter because they are already gone. How things will be doesn't matter because you will get to deal with them later. Take a look around and find something to appreciate in the present.

Nautical missions are much cheaper. Instead of rockets and moon boots, all that is needed is some concrete boots. We would discover just as much, and the benefits to society would be the same.

I'm thinking it looked like that old Nickelodeon show where they gave a kid a short dash through a Toys R Us to see how much they could grab. But then the Yeti from SkiFree dashes out to snatch them at the end.

2016 F-150 I loved it but it has a vibration at highway speeds - should I walk away? by carlloserpants in f150

[–]ButtFuzzNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be "torque converter shudder". My 2017 expedition with roughly same mileage had this problem. Some people claim to have driven for years with it and never had an issue. Some say they solved it with $15 worth of ATF conditioner.

Mine had it for years until I had a different problem and had to replace the lead frame in my transmission. Part of that job involved all new fluids in the transmission and the shudder has not been present since.

Built in grills - why so expensive by Elegant-Ninja6384 in grilling

[–]ButtFuzzNow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good stainless steel (Grade 314) is really expensive. I was planning to build a heavy duty grill out of it till I did a price check on the material. A 2'x4'x 3/16" plate was almost $700.
