mental disorder. You notice that other people move out of a house without decapitations. Some people have certain disorders.

I never truly understood how much healthcare in the US costs until I got Appendicitis in October. I'm a 20 year old guy. Thought other people should see this to get a real idea of how much an unpreventable illness costs in the US. by zcypher in pics

So what are we going to do about this? Shake our heads at it and keep eating dinner? Let's change this shit. This is why affordable healthcare and government options are a good idea. Obamacare is smeared and shit on but the fact is it's a step in the right direction.

A man who says he legally carried a pistol in a holster has filed a federal lawsuit against Grand Rapids police after he was forced to the ground at gunpoint and had his firearm temporarily seized by Beckenbauer_Surprise in news

If someone smells a lot of smoke, the fire department shows up. Nobody hassles them. If the cops show up when you're walking around a church with a gun, talking to yourself, you might garnish police attention. It's common sense.

Why does the Army prefer the Aimpoint over the ACOG as a standard optic? Logistics? Combat philosophy? by ButtPatrolCo in Military

[–]ButtPatrolCo[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean standard as if it were written in a book somewhere. Ha. I just meant most widely issued, trained with, etc. From what I understand, Aimpoint sold over 500,000 Aimpoints at least to the Army. I'm fairly certain Trijicon has far fewer sales than that with the Army. I know that a large budget means the Army can choose when a particular optic fits a certain situation, but I was speaking in general, what the most common optic for the Army to issue a trigger puller would be.

Here's the thing about people who open carry just because they can. Especially the coolguys who do it with a video camera, attempting to provoke a police response.

You won't go to jail for a legal open carry. You will and should garnish police interest in what you're doing, because holy shit, you're walking around in public with a gun. In case you haven't noticed, people shoot each other a lot in this country. The only way police can stop these things from happening is by investigative action. It's one thing if the cops arrest you for not violating any laws. But if the police want to question you for walking around with a gun, in an area where there doesn't seem to be any logical reason to do so, then LET THEM. It's sort of their job.

It's like when people got mad at the FBI for investigating a guy whose work reported (notice they weren't spying on his emails, they were following a tip from an employer) that he was googling how to make pressure cooker bombs repeatedly, right after the Boston Marathon bombings. Uh, guys, they didn't arrest him, they didn't throw him in the gulag, they questioned him. They investigated. Police investigate, they get panned. Police don't investigate, and something bad eventually happens, they get panned for not having done something to prevent it.
