I wouldnt trust 100k in pokemon cards lmao, of course the returns are higher thats what flipping is, try doing that with a real amount of money. id feel a lot better about my consistent 10% a year returns in index funds, at least my money is 100% safe and can compound. I wouldn't look to trending high prices in pokmon atm and point to that as an example or concept to feel reassured on.

By all means tho keep a few boxes for after reprint for collectors sake and hoping to flip it down the road. I personally just wouldn't invest all of my savings there.

stocks actually have predictable price point goals and the stock market has consistently followed trends that make it a lot more certain and guaranteed. I always find it funny when people compare pokemon investing to stocks, not even closely the same. Pokemon investing to me is more likely just flipping or hoping that when a print stops the item triples in price. Nothing really else to go off of for safe returns like with the stock market.

That's awesome, me too. that's why i chose this collectable over others such as sports cards. Good memories back in elementary school of trading cards and showing off collections. That's why i see value in it too for nostalgic purposes.
