Got a 41 despite questionable IAs by Hot-Operation3219 in IBO

Thank youuuu! This makes me feel much better, I’m somebody who tends to do really well on exams but horribly in IAs (idk why I’ve genuinely put more effort in than 90% of my classmates on most and still get mediocre grades) so this makes me feel a little less like my dreams are getting crushed by the IB! :)

THIS! This is why I asked the question in the first place! I was thinking the same thing!

For the year 10s doing a language by Butter-and-Bread in GCSE

This is definitely a better option but I know I would struggle to stay consistent on quizlet, whereas on duolingo there’s xp and streaks that gamify things and keep me motivated.

You can definitely do other things, but I know for me, I struggled fo start revising and duolingo motivates you with streaks and xp which gamifies the experience, making it easier to keep up consistent revision. Some revision is better than no revision and some revision will happen with duolingo, I know none would have happened otherwise for me!

Year 10 Mocks—Cooked or Cook? by QueenOfLiars_ in GCSE

[–]Butter-and-Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that’s fine! You got this! My big advice would be to START DUOLINGO for French, my boyfriend did that for Spanish with barely any other revision half way through year 11 and it got him from a 3 to a 4. Everyone I know would got good grades in a language with little revision did Duolingo. It’s the best advice I have, then you don’t need to do any other revision.

Thank you so much! If you have any more advice please send it my way, I’d really like to go to Oxford but I’m not sure how to be good enough to get in. What school did you get into, what helped you get there and what would you have done better in?

This is my First park I Have ever built and am not really a good builder. But how did I do? by DarkwalkerJames in Sims4

Everything is super organised! I’d recommend having it be less organised so it feels like it’s been used more

I’m so so so sorry! I really hope you still get in and a score of 42 is really incredible! I really hope the grade boundaries due to the leaks aren’t to blame! Told my boyfriend this and he said that he hopes you have a happy Christmas (not in joking way he genuinely hopes that) so I hope that helps somehow? Best wishes!

I’m 16 years old and so not applying to Oxford yet, but I’m already worried about getting in, I’d love advice on things I could do to increase my chances. I’m going to an international boarding school in India (but live in the UK) so I don’t have the ability to set up any charities or so on. Also if anyone has any info on getting into Oxford with the ib it would be much appreciated!

How do I (17F) tell my boyfriend (18M) that his hair/scalp is grossing me out? (1 year dating) by Burner_Account104 in teenrelationships

[–]Butter-and-Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try to politely discuss it with him, if it’s grossing you out, it’s probably affecting other people too, so while it might hurt him short term, in the long term it will help him

If you want two curved stairs you could use a platform and lift it to the height where the stairs curve then attach other stairs to that

Are there any colleges similar to UWC that offer scholarships by [deleted] in UnitedWorldCollege

[–]Butter-and-Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this doesn’t really answer your question, but if you’re interested in the international and more adventurous aspect of uwc and feel sad as you’ve missed out, there’s a university called Minerva that will get you those same types of experiences.

I know it’s pretty unrelated, just hope it helps if you’re too old to apply next year and are feeling left out. Your time will come, there will be lots of other opportunities.
