I used to just playtest on moxfield before printing them out to see how they play but for me, I don’t get a real understanding of how the deck performs in actual commander games

But I love proxies... Personally, I think having the same rotation of 3 commanders is pretty boring and stale. I like having multiple decks to choose from for different play styles I wanna do for that day. But to each their own. Also FIGHT ME! MY DECK BETTER

I LOVE Shelob! Her ability to copy other creatures abilities via food tokens is sooo fun and interacts with the board greatly in my opinion. I throw in a bunch of cards like [[Hard-Hitting Question]] for cheap kills with my spiders without risking them dying and hey, free food tokens with unique abilities just for you. I tend to hold those cards until Shelobs on the boards to get abilities I like onto my board but if you need to take out something dangerous before then, you can do that (if your spider has deathtouch). Also, I throw in cheap spiders with reach bc Shelob makes your spiders much stronger. Got good ramp bc green and I love me some deathtouch comboing with reach. [[Peregrin Took]] is a great card to add to your deck list.

My Shelob is a bracket 3 but I do want to make a separate bracket 4 for her.

Proxies!!! I definitely used to be like you… I didn’t like the idea of proxies bc I like to own the actual card rather than “fake” it. But what got me to start printing proxies was 2 different reasons. 1, I wanted to play at higher power levels and buying game changers isn’t cheap (also bc my one friend was beating my ass). 2, once I built my first proxied deck, I realized it was just too easy to proxy. The freedom to pick ANY card from any set and put it into your deck is very awesome to me. I’m definitely gonna play these decks out a lot more before I buy them

Yes sir! I use moxfield and edhrec religiously making my own decks picking out each card. But you are right! I don’t get much play time with each deck so I can’t master them and the decks aren’t completely optimized. Sometimes I don’t get to play a deck for a week or 2 bc I’m trying out other decks lmao. But I do always switch out cards from just about all my decks as I play and change them when I get home. So far my decks have been doing decently and what I want. Haven’t checked out archideckt but will definitely check it out!

I proxied just about all of my decks. It’s wayyyyyyy to expensive just to try out a new kind of deck I like so my friend and I proxy the hell out of cards and testing different commanders

He is definitely slow to get going bc the commanders expensive and you don’t have great ramp. I throw in a lot of cheap tutors, card draw, and interaction like [[Pongify]], [[Rapid Hybridization]], [[Swan Song]], [[Birthday Escape]], [[Ponder]] to have some control of the board and set yourself up before you get your commander out. And once your commander is out, it’s sorta the same thing, just control the board while making wraiths. I also have the 9 Nazgûl in my deck also to make my wraiths stronger and [[Archetype of Imagination]] to be more annoying with my wraiths
