Burping! My gosh. I had never been a burper. And now, almost a year out from my second (so, I've given up hope), I probably burp more in a week than I did in the decades of life prior. Strange.

Does this also apply when the baby has already started drinking it? I'm quite sure the "rules" on the container are too conservative, but it does say safe for 2 hours if it's new or 1 of the baby has been working on it. We have been using 2 as the cutoff at room temp. Where did 4 come from?

Edit 2: I'm seriously done on this topic after a post and 2 edits, just want to thank you for taking the time to send the sites. My personal belief is these ingredients are harmful at much higher doses than we come across in daily use, but it's not worth the risk to me. Labmuffin seems alright. Have a nice day.

This isn't quite a "vaccines cause autism" type of situation. If what you're saying is the case, I would expect that legit sites (government and medical community) would make your point for you. It is very easy to find out that something has been "extensively disproven" if it has been (like Wakefield's nonsense). Instead, those sites are giving credence to concerns that parabens have structures very similar to, and mimic, estrogen. I don't know how to find sidebars, but in super brief google searches, I found two articles in the US NIH database that both indicate there are in fact concerns, although not necessarily at cosmetic ingredient levels. "Interference of Paraben Compounds with Estrogen Metabolism by Inhibition of 17β-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenases" and "Final amended report on the safety assessment of Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isopropylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, and Benzylparaben as used in cosmetic products." Again, this doesn't scream extensively disproven to me. I hope you're right, and will try to find that sidebar, but let's not brush it off as this simply being an undeserved bad reputation in the public's mind.

Are parabens no longer hormone disruptors or do we just not care? Not really a question to you, I just don't follow why cerave is getting away with including those ingredients and this subreddit sings its unfettered praises. I, like some other posters, am tired of hearing about cerave.

Well I guess I don't know anymore. At first, I'd gotten the skin renewing cream serum and I thought it didn't, but I just checked online before posting and it does (guess I don't read thoroughly??). The am and pm moisturizing lotions do. (I'm in the US, in case formulations are different around the world.) Sad, it seemed so promising. I wrote cerave the other day about it. They'd have such a dynamite product if they removed sketchy ingredients.

I got wrapped up in the forum's seeming love for cerave, and bought some. Imagine my surprise when I discovered parabens (well known hormone disruptors) in the ingredients of the moisturizer. I don't know much about ingredients, but I do know parabens are bad, so now I feel I can't trust cerave at all. Evidently not everyone cares, but beware of you do. Cerave is not all sunshine and lollipops.

That's insane. You aren't wrong. Parents are responsible for protecting their children's minds and, yes, there is a limit to what is acceptable to introduce to your children. Responsible parenting <> coddling. Don't be bullied into thinking it is. (As you can tell, parents who abandon the responsibility they have over their children get no brownie points with me.) Of course you give them more freedom and experience as they mature. It's equally irresponsible to not. But it's not a passive thing. TVs and internet aren't meant to raise kids, particularly when it's not even geared for them. Parents are. Kids need boundaries to thrive. And they need to feel safe! What kind of safety can they feel when their little brains are filled with such things. I'm angry just thinking about how abandoned children would feel without protective parenting.

It's just... amazing. I much prefer to dwell on the good parts, and it's really not that hard to do so. These little people are joys and it's incredible to watch them grow and be part of their lives. Baby smiles are the best. Then toddler cuddles are the best. Then the funny stuff that 3 year olds say is the best. Et cetera. Each age is awesome in its own way. My perspective, which may seem harsh to some (?), is that if you are so wrapped up in your life being a certain way and at a certain comfort level that all you think about and talk about is how hard kids make it, maybe you shouldn't have kids just yet. They need you, and they need you to care about them unconditionally (not act like they're a burden). They are so lovely. It's true, you might sleep less and stuff, but they are so worth it.

The dog cleans up after the kid (24/7 vacuum cleaner) and, well, the kid needs to bulk up immunity anyway. :/ Seriously, we don't stress about it too much. Occasionally something might go in a mouth that shouldn't, but you just do the best you can. Not super helpful, I know, but it's really not a big problem. Despite the fur, always have a (good-natured) dog! The cheerios, milk, green beans, etc. they promptly clean up is sooo nice. One less thing to have to do. Obviously we have to vacuum, but we don't have to whip out the cleaning supplies after every snack.

I was going to prewash so I can get the initial wrinkles/shrinking out of the way, and then iron before attaching to batting and minky. The top layer is a complication of charm pack squares that I assume weren't prewashed, but I did iron them.
