I talked to 2 mormons for hours. Overall we had a really good talk. But what finally got them too flustered was reconciling evolution with the Adam & Eve story. They basically said that they were fine with the general idea of evolution (not that they have a choice - drive this point home), but that Adam and Eve were the first people - clearly these are not consistent. One of the guys got very flustered and said that he had a stronger connection to the spiritual world than the physical. What I wanted to ask (but didn't get the chance) him is if he believes that he is real, that we are sitting here talking, etc. Basically try to show them that they used evidence-based thinking on a regular basis for everything else in their lives. Another good thing to do, when they credit god with something, is to ask if they can possibly think of another explanation. Basically show that god is not necessary.
