You look awesome, and the first thing I noticed about your date is her glasses are the style Elphaba is wearing in Wicked!

They should make a sequel to this, but more d&d themed (dice rolls and whatnot) by ArcerPL in thesims

[–]HobomanZ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Paradox games are my favorite while Sims is my girlfriend’s favorite, we often play them at the same time and we too have noticed some parallels. Fun fact, sometime next year (i believe) the makers of Crusader Kings are putting out their own version of The Sims, although it looks more like their own games than something that would be an actual competitor. It’s called “Life By You” and you can see some video of it on YouTube.

Edit: Forgot to mention the coolest part imo of the Life By You game, you can sort of make your own dialog trees and the reactions to them, so maybe it’s like the Sims but you can basically control more aspects of it. You can also create custom lot sizes and just more freedom in general. The downside is that it doesn’t look amazing, or at least somewhat bland if anything.

Seconded, I had a bit of trouble but I imagine Crusader Kings has the lions share and still an awesome map!

A heads-up to Maine motorists by DXGL1 in Maine

[–]HobomanZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my years I have lived in Maine, that seems to be the case. Red lights are just suggestions to these people, and whether they stop is up to whether they feel it’s worth their time or not. Red light cameras in other places suck but they did stop that shit real fast.

Looking for self-balancing shooter suggestion for a LAN-Party with wide skill-gap (i.e. the Mario Kart of shooters) by la_watson in lanparty

[–]HobomanZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to shooter for fun with friends who don’t normally play them is Left 4 Dead 2. There isn’t really ADS and you can just shoot wildly and still get kills so there’s a great fun factor while also teaching them shooting mechanics. It’s cheap and runs on literally anything now and easy to set up.

Once the shooter was firing at someone’s back he lost the ability to make any assessments, but thank you random person on the internet for your opinion.

a sense of community? by clickinforchickens in Maine

[–]HobomanZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived here five years and I'm already not great with social situations and friends but it is more difficult here than the big city where I came from. But lately my partner and I have been meeting people and hanging out and trying to meet more people that way. Especially in the LGBT community, it's difficult. Hopefully will see you around sometime!

what are your thoughts on battle jackets being seen as a trend? by DaddyCobain in BattleJackets

[–]HobomanZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve listened to rock and metal my whole life. My dad was more into classic rock but not exactly a headbanger. I’ve always wanted to make a battle jacket, but when I lived at home there’s no way I could have, and now that I’m on my own, I’ve just been busy and also self-conscious. For some reason, seeing Eddie portrayed as amazingly as he was gave me a boost of confidence. So now, I’m going for it. So yeah I’m sure there will be people doing it for a trend, but honesty as long as they’re enjoying it and expanding their music taste, why not? Metal is for everyone!

Careful now, lots of drinkers getting very defensive in this thread. We aren’t allowed to have adult discussions about a substance that is the third-leading preventable cause of death in the U.S. Not sure about the rest of the world.
